I think all I saw was a little blob with a heart beat. I don't think you always see a heartbeat that early though, so don't panic if they can't find it. Good luck! xx

thats chopster.. all the books say that it looks a bit prawn like! But fingers crossed they just want to make sure that it's in the right place...

I had mine at 6+3 (am now 7+6). Was lucky enough to see heartbeat. Little tiny bean. Measured crown to rump 6.1mm, sac 20mm. Scan was abdominal on empty bladder.

Was early to see heartbeat esp through abdominal.

I will probably need an internal scan as I have aretroverted uterus and until about 12 weeks it won't pop out!

Have they already scaneed to confirm retroverted? I was retroverted with ds& but am now anteverted. THink last pregnancy 'righted' it. I was convinced I would have transvaginal as did for 4 weeks scan. If they do transvaginal better chance of seeing heartbeat.

bluebell82 · 25/05/2007 10:33

what is a transvaginal.. the only scans I have had are either the tummy ones or the one that looks like a large vibrator!

I had a mc in Sept and the nurse asked if she could take freeze frames of my uteruis for the trainee nurse as it was retroverted and unusual.. cheek of it, they had only just told me I'd lost my baby!

transvaginal is like a vibrator .. not as fun tho!

Sorry about your m/c. Is likely that still retroverted then. At least they get a clearer image transvaginally.

These ealry days do seem to drag. Are you on the Jan thread?

bluebell82 · 25/05/2007 10:42

where do you find the jan thread. Am I being a bit of a dummy??!

To be honest I was gutted at the time but then I am a great believer in fate and timing maybe it just wasn't the right time, fingers crossed now is though!

I just want to see it there on the screen and hear the heartbeat..

Saw the GP yesterday to get it confirmed, although she was helpful she put the fear of god in me as I have been hacving a few crampy pains the last week, like my AF is coming, not on any particular side, and it's not tender to touch, more like muscle pains.. they are not bothering me at all though, so maybe they are normal I've heard that lots of women suffer with cramps.. I jsut want to be 12 weeks!! Bet you are the same!

I had abdominal at 6 weeks (with introverted uterus) and I saw a gestation sac no heartbeat but he was fine

lissie · 26/05/2007 15:32

achey pains are v normal! your body is stretching and expanding all the time. good luck! i had a scan at 7w with ds that was vaginal just to make sure that they could see everything

PinkElephant · 26/05/2007 16:52

Hi bluebell. I had an ectopic a few months ago and am now 7wks pregnant too. I had a scan at 5.5wks as I was having a few cramps. They could see that things were ok this time and that the yolk sac was developing in the womb, also told I had a lovely 3cm size cysts next to it which might be causing the cramps. Got another scan at in a weeks time, at 8wks pg and apparently we should see a heart beat then. Good luck
