Over due thread. When did you have your first?

I'm 40 + 4 had a sweep two days ago was told I'm 90 effaced and 1.5 dilated. Spotted for few days but nope she's comfy in there haha.

When did you guys have your babies?
I've tried everything to get things going probably need to just be patient now.

I was 40 + 5 with my first.

40+13. ‘‘Twas a long two weeks!

39 weeks with no 1 for me.

Went into labour naturally at 42+3

Mine were 42 and 41+6... both started naturally.

I was 40 +7 when I had mine. It felt like the longest 7 days of my life!

I was 41+2 when DS finally made an appearance! He can the day after my second sweep

40+4 I went into labour. But he took 3 whole days and wasn't bothered about trying to get out...
That was January and I was ready to kill everyone!! I can't imagine being due this week in this heat... feeling for you op cxx

40 + 13. Two sweeps and he was still comfy. Didn’t come out until induced and they manually broke my waters. Sorry to say you may have a while to go yet!

I was induced at 12 days overdue. Had 3 sweeps prior to that - didn’t do anything and I was around 3cm!!

Thanks guys. Reassuring to hear other peoples stories. X just want to see her now.

Can go for another sweep tomorrow so think I'll do that and then I have the option for a third on Tuesday. Don't want be induced as want to have a water birth at my maternity ward near me but keeping open minded because it can all change on the day I imagine!

Yeah the heat is a bit much right now I've just had to stay in doors all week so guess that's not helping haha x

I'm mentally preparing that I could make it 42 weeks hopefully the sweeps will work for me or at least keep me going knowing if any change had happened helps I think. :)

42 +2, I was induced, then dragged out labour for two full days before DS was forcibly extracted from my fanny. I had four failed sweeps before that

I don't want to be a total downer, but I think you're right to be open minded. I was desperate for a water birth, and it didn't work out. You don't want to end up disappointed.

If the heat is getting to you, Boots make this fantastic cooling spray, but I can't remember what it's called! It's all that got me through the summer last year.

40+10. I was due to go in the following Monday for induction, but thankfully she decided to start arriving on the Thursday and was here Friday morning.

I was induced and still had a water birth
Has the pessary, sent home to wait for it to work, went back in a few hours later as waters had gone, was 9cm when they examined me and was too late for any drugs so went in to the birthing pool and he was born 5 hours later with only gas & air!

I was 40+3 with all three of mine which is weird I know! I did have a sweep at 40+1 with them all though which clearly worked well! They were all ten pound+ babies so I’m glad I went into labour then rather than waiting another fortnight...

I'm glad to hear the sweep had worked for some of you. :) So much pressure on me to have more done. Just had my partners mum say so you having the sweep tomorrow yeah and I said most likely but not 100 percent sure as I don't really want go through the discomfort again and to get my hopes up as it's not the same as being induced and she said but is it up to you? An I was like yeah it's my choice if I have someone put there fingers in my vagina.. Cause everyone just wants me to have this baby yesterday and keep asking if I'll peruse the induction as soon as possible lol
