Belly piercing advice - 22 weeks pregnant

Please could someone give me some advice I would be so grateful 😊

I am 22 weeks pregnant and have my belly button pierced. The bar that is in is going pink and I need to either change it to a pregnancy bar or take it out. I am worried about stretching and scarring so was wondering what the best option is to ensure minimum marking. I dont mind repairing after birth if necessary just dont know what to do!

Thanks in advance x

I took mine out at around the same time and now have minimal scarring although haven't put the bar back in. The longer you leave it, the worse it'll look.

Thank you very much. I had read so many things about how taking it out can scar worse and got so confused. Thank you😊

In my first pregnancy i used a bioflex bar which was almost bendy so it didn't cause discomfort but kept the piercing open. In my second i carried differently so felt more stretched at the front so i took it out and didn't ever put it back in. It didn't look that bad though once it healed x

If you leave it in long enough for it to reject it will scar worse than if you take it out now. The longer you leave it in, the more stretched it will become and the messier the scar will be.
