Usually 2-3 litres? Sometimes possibly slightly less as this baby loves bouncing about on my bladder and I could spend all day on the loo! I haven’t really upped my water intake as my urine is still very dilutes day I’m avoiding spending long periods of time in the sun.

Apparently not enough - currently on a saline drip at MAU for dehydration.

Bluebirdsky · 27/06/2018 19:39

A minimum of two litres but usually more, I have always done this though as I suffer with bed migraines when not pregnant. As previous posters have said the colour of your urine is a very good indicator of whether or not you are drinking enough so I would go by this as we all have individual requirements so what others drink may not be enough/maybe too much for you.

My urine is practically clear. I drink between 6 and 8 pints atm i think (i fill a jug of 2 and a half pints with water for the fridge) also drink coke. Midwives always comment and say i must drink a lot when i take in a urine sample. Gd test came back fine no gd but they did say at last appointment i had high fluid but not abnormal and babys tummy was measuring big. Going for another scan tomorrow so will see what they say then. I do vape so that makes you a bit more thirsty.

Urine should be a pale straw colour - for me this means drinking between 2 and 3 litres as PP have said. The problem with drinking too much is that you can actually poison yourself with water by flushing out vital minerals and salts.

If your urine is completely colourless you might be drinking too much water, and should look for signs like headaches and nausea that can indicate water intoxication. If this is the case, try drinking sports drinks that contain electrolytes to replenish sodium levels.

Interested in this also, I have been drinking lots of water especially in this heat , also have a 600ml bottle of ice water before bed , doesn't seem to matter how much I drink though I can't seem to get my urine to be anything but very dark Confused

SamanthaH92 · 27/06/2018 20:10

I have started feeling sick in the afternoons the past two days but i thought that was just the heat. I was actually sick last night but not much water came out, which you would think it would so my body must be absorbing it fast x

Pre-pregnancy, about 3litres of plain water but now I can't stomach it and it makes me vomit so about 500ml of actual water and about 250ml of fruit juice and one can of fizzy drink.

TinyTerror1 · 28/06/2018 09:05

Usually 1.5-2 litres, closer to 3 in this heat. My urine wasn't going particularly dark but I was finding it hard to wee so I think I was beginning to retain fluid. The 3 litres seems to be working for me.

SamanthaH92 · 28/06/2018 09:11

@tinyterror1 yes i am retaining A LOT of fluid. The skin on my feet and ankles has got SO tight i feel like they are going to explode open. They go down a tiny bit over night but as soon as i wake up they ballon. I've put 10lbs on in 4 weeks. I have a consultant appointment today so will see what she suggests about swelling. Its becoming painful now xx

Fucking loads. I'm at over three litres already today, but I have also walked four miles. I'm pretty active and walk everywhere (generally rack up 8 miles plus a day) so I assume that is why I have to drink so much!

SiolGhoraidh · 28/06/2018 12:36

About three litres, and I'm still slightly dehydrated. The weather is cooking it all out of me again before it ever hits my bladder.

There are water bottles all over the house and in the cars, so it's always at arms reach.

BlueBug45 · 28/06/2018 12:52

2-3 litres. Unfortunately if the baby starts bouncing on my bladder then I go to toilet a lot and find I have clear urine. I don't have any headache or other issues.
