Can hot weather make you puffy?

It’s been a hot day around 25 d’c. Iv been to the shops and walked around 2 miles in total but sat down and had lunch inbetween so I haven’t over done it, Iv came home and my feet were hurting so I removed my shoes and the top of my feet were a little puffy, I have new shoes (toms) so just thought maybe they were tight as it’s only the 3rd time I wore them. Then I noticed my fingers and hands were puffy..... I’m due my baby any day now and had no blood pressure issues as of yet! Can a hot day make you puffy?

I’m usually puffy on a hot day when not pregnant. I think it’s water retention.

Check with your midwife just to be safe though x

It definitely can do. My feet are swollen today and I gave birth 4 months ago!! I would be inclined to get my feet up for an hour (and I really mean up- as far as you can get them) drink plenty and see if it goes down at all. If it doesn’t I would ring my midwife and see what she thought. She may well want to check your BP etc just to be on the safe side.

I’m sitting outside now with my feet up ☺️ Hopefully it all goes down soon

I'm 37 weeks and have been suffering from swollen feet for about 2 months now - I can only fit my feet in flip flops that are a size larger than I am normally.

My blood pressure has been fine through (apart from one incident last week). Midwife has put it down to the heat.

You need to get them raised up as high as you can, also bathing in Epsom salts is supposed to be good - that's what I'm doing tonight!

My feet are also a nice shade of purple, just to top it off Wink

Yep! My feet and hands have been really swollen and my midwife has done her checks and said it's down to the heat. I have shoes I can't wear at the moment because I can't get my feet into them, and my rings have been stuck on my fingers for weeks. I'm also due any day and hoping it all goes down when baby arrives!

Yes definitely; I am 39 weeks pregnant and have only suffered with swollen ankles when the weather has been hot, other than that I have been fine.

Yes I had this with both pregnancies it was really uncomfortable and I looked horrible! Thankfully I deflated almost straight after giving birth
