Period pain at 7 weeks

Hello :)

Can anyone help me please. I'm currently 7 weeks 6 days pregnant.
It's my third pregnancy but first 2 misscarried so I'm so scared!

On Friday I had some really strong period type pains, and lower back ache all day. I was so upset as I was convinced I was on the way to my third miscarriage, so I was just waiting for the bleeding to start (like the previous 2). The bleeding never started though and the pain eased off at about 7pm. I tried to get an appointment at the early pregnancy clinic today (Monday) but when I told them my symptoms they said to go to doctors instead incase it was a urine infection. So I went to the doctors and they've sent a sample off to be checked and said to try not worry about pregnancy if the pain has stopped.

I can't not worry though! Has this happened to anyone else? Really bad period and back pain for just one day?

Hello, I sympathise, I lost my first baby and have been very stressed through this one.

This was my experience: in this pregnancy I started getting the most awful cramps at about 6 weeks. They were much worse than period pains, I was doubled up in pain, sweating and shaking. This continued most nights for a week. I phoned the early pregnant unit, and my doctor: they both said this was not normal and warned me it might be a miscarriage. I was beside myself and even took time off work to ‘rest’, which I now think was pointless as bed rest is no longer advised!

But here I am at 27 weeks and all was fine. I just think everyone’s experience is different and also pain is subjective - by which I mean if you’ve had a loss before you are perhaps more likely to fear the worst and in a way t makes your symptoms feel worse!

I hope you have a good outcome like me. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi @Mils91

Thanks so sorry to hear of your previous losses.

I just wanted to let you know that during the early days of my pregnancy (before I knew I was pregnant Grin) I had the most horrendous period pain - would wake up with it through the night and always expected my period to arrive the next day but it didn't.

That pregnancy resulted in my lovely healthy daughter :) fingers crossed for you!

Thanks ladies, it's so good to hear you've both gone on to have babies or healthy pregnancies after pain.

I haven't had anymore period type pain and still no bleeding so hopefully all is ok inside :)

Thank you!!
