Second trimester - sudden onset of nausea & tiredness - HELP

Hi,

I'm pregnant with my fourth child and it's been a difficult pregnancy so far (we had a higher than average Nuchal reading and so opted for CVS and will have further scans to check for abnormalities and heart defects in next week or two).

I'm now 17 weeks pregnant and for last five days I've been really struggling with pretty much constant nausea and complete exhaustion. It has come from nowhere and is strange as I had only moderate morning sickness, that passed as went into second trimester. I can't work out if it's a) a bug b) some kind of returning morning sickness or c) just a symptom of my body being stressed out / the effects of ongoing stress and worry.

Anyone else had a similar experience, got any tips / advice?

I work PT and have my three children to look after so feels like keeping on is the only option but I'm just struggling to manage with how I'm feeling atm!!

I had my fourth baby in October, I had terrible nausea and tiredness during the first trimester and it seemed to stop but then I would get waves of it through the rest of the pregnancy. I put it down to stress and just day to day life. Maybe check with your midwife if you are worried. Xx

I haven't really struggled with nausea but I did get a return of my exhaustion in the second trimester. I also had a high NT measurement at the 12 week scan and I think sometimes you don't realise just how stressed you have been waiting for the all clear (I'm now 25 weeks and baby is fine - hope your detailed scans go well).

The other option is low iron so it is worth getting checked by your gp or midwife. I started eating more iron-rich food and I have felt better since then.

Thanks so much TinyTerror1 and Betty74 for the thoughts an support. Appreciated. I am feeling frustrated with myself for feeling so rubbish and can't work out whether I should try and properly rest for a few days or just press on, and hope it sorts itself out in time. Supposed to be going away with work for two nights tomorrow and totally undecided about whether I should go or just down tools for a bit! I never had nausea like this with the other three pregnancies - all that seems to help is if I eat something! But I can't do that - constantly!!
