Gecko?

I have a gecko and have been told that i shouldnt touch it. i feel really bad though because my gecko has problems with its eyes some times when it sheds its skin, when they shed they shed the skin off their eyes also, but mine has problems doing that and i have to use a cotton bud and cold salty water to coax the leftover skin out of its eyes, i cant use gloves because their skin is sensitive and my boyfriend and my parents hate it and wont touch it!
What am i supposed to do?
Any suggestions please?

Lizards can carry salmonella which is no fun when you're pregnant.

The only thing I can think of is either for you to get hold of some appropriate medical-grade gloves (am no expert on whther latex or non-latex are best for lizards) and carry on doing it yourself, or take it to the vet if it sheds during your pregnancy.

(NB be aware that the salmonella is also trasnimttable whether pregnant or not so anyone handling lizards should wash thoroughly afterwards.)

have always handled it before, just made sure i washed my hands thoroughly before and after handling, as i work full time i dont get time to take it to the vets and dont feel that it should suffer because i got pregnant, do you think it would be ok to handle in second trimester (am 10+2)
I really dont want to give it up, it has been a very poorly gecko and just dont think someone elso would give it the time and love that i have (even though i cant at the moment)

Ask the vet re gloves - bet he wears them when handling lizards.
In fact ask him about the whole thing.

I read the title and thought it was Trinity's way of telling us she might be pregnant again
