Cervical ectropion

Hi everyone. I went to the EPU unit yesterday as having spotting at 5+6. They couldn't see anything on the scan apart from thickening of the uterus, so have taken bloods and I'm back for more tomorrow. The doctor did an internal examination of my cervix and thinks she found that I have cervical ectropion which she explained can cause bleeding. That really calmed me down and gave me hope but now nearly 24 hours later I've been to the toilet and there was the most blood there has been since I started bleeding on Tuesday, some was thick and actually in the toilet rather than when I wipe. Has anybody had cervical ectroption? Or had an examination of the cervix which has caused more bleeding? This has really made me loose hope :(

I did. It started at around 20 weeks. The day after my 20 week scan and I panicked. All fine, they didn’t notice the ectropian. Over the next few weeks I had more frequent episodes before finally being diagnosed with it at 25 weeks. It was horrible though. I remember one time it was mixed with loads of discharge and I thought my waters must have gone. A really stressful time. It was scanned and then checked by the people who do cervical cancer checks and then it magically stopped at around 29 weeks.

I remember that it pooled out of me (freaked me out so much DH had phone his parents to take me to the EPU in his absence.) DD currently asleep upstairs. Don't worry too much.

lllnelson, no it was smaller. But I do know that some had it worse than me. Another girl I know had a subchronic haematoma which was response for scary but non threatening bleeding.
Everything crossed for you xx
