Due tomorrow. Have had no show or waters breaking. Think I've got a while to go and just want to hear if anything worked for you guys to bring it on or if I just need to chill and be patient haha

I absolutely swear that sitting on my birthing ball helped me. 45 mins of rocking, rolling and gentle bouncing every night. Natural labour started 40+6. Did the same in labour too so was already 6cm when I went into
Hospital and am sure that's why!

Anything that produces oxytocin. Sex, massage, yummy treats, weepy movies

Lost plug then had sex both times, babies arrived that evening, could be coincidence but worth a try!

Period type cramps, but only after I’d had a pessary for induction, sorry! Got moving pretty quickly then though. Also I was really anxious about induction and intervention but ended up having both and in the event, I wished I’d not wasted time fretting about it because all that actually mattered to me in reality was the amazing, respectful, compassionate support I got in labour (from my fab birth partners and the hospital staff. I was blown away by how supportive and brilliant they were), and my baby’s safe arrival. Everything else felt like an irrelevance.

Good luck, whenever baby decides to put in an appearance!

(Although I agree have lots and lots of sex now! Even if it doesn’t send you into labour it’s likely to be a while until you feel up for it post partum; might as well enjoy it while you can.)

Hopefully it'll work for me I've been using a exercise ball everyday and trying to have sex regularly but not really feeling it haha. This maybe tmi but I tried to check my cervix and can't even reach it. Does anyone remember if they could feel there's. I have a sweep next week but worried they won't even be able to reach lol

I struggled to reach mine as well (not now as the fucking thing has prolapsed and is easily accessible Angry) but midwife had no bother doing the sweep - I think its easier if you’re not working round a 40 week bump!

Loosemoose28 · 23/06/2018 23:49

Im a midwife and couldnt really find mine while pregnant could just feel the edge. Its not really possible unless its low. I had two rounds of accupuncture and gave birth 12 hrs later- was over due though so may have happened without, who knows these babies choose when they want.

Loosemoose28 · 23/06/2018 23:51

And also a 1cm dilated cervix could be in labour 3hrs labour or you could be 3cm - 4cm for a week before, checking your cervix won’t really give you any information.

A steep hilly walk.
I hope it all goes well, and quickly for you!

Bobbiepin · 24/06/2018 00:16

Danced for hours at a wedding two nights before, had a spicy take away the night before & waters broke early hours of the morning.

Angelmiracle · 24/06/2018 00:28

Loads of walking, reflexology 40+2, sweep at 40+5, labour started 40+6 DS born 40+7.

Spanglyprincess1 · 24/06/2018 00:28

Watching with interest...thought labour was starting the other day but stopped and nothing for several days now!!
Too hot for me and can't sleep

grace7 · 24/06/2018 01:37

My little boy came at exactly 41 weeks. I went into labour at about 2am early hours Wednesday, on the Tuesday I ate some rhubarb crumble, went for a long walk and sex before bed - didn't get any sleep as was followed almost immediately by very strong contractions and he was out within 6 hours. Probably the last thing on your mind but it might work for you Grin

Thank you so much girls for sharing your stories and advice. I'm getting so excited now due today but not getting my hopes up but way I see it everyday will be a day closer to meeting my baby girl. This is my first so not sure what to expect.

Spanglyprincess1 that's so frustrating I've had nights where I get back pain and period cramps thinking this is it only for them to stop haha hopefully won't be long for you now. X

I was induced with DS1 +12 days, had 3 failed sweeps from due date but he did come pretty quick once everything got moving!
DD1 I had a sweep day after I was due & was 3cm dilated in the morn & waters broke that night, started with contractions about 11.30pm & had her at 3.14am
DS2 I was +11 days we went for a walk/waddle in the afternoon, that night had the biggest sticky toffee pudding dessert (INSATIABLE appetite!) and everything kicked off in the night! My waters didn't break until 5 mins before I had him & he flew out in 2 pushes!
I think trying to keep as active as possible, birthing balls & sugar...(maybe just me!) Blush will help. Good luck and hope you don't have to wait too long!
