I am 11 weeks and badly constipated. It’s been the same on and off for weeks and lactulose isn’t helping. I have some glycerine supiaitoires-are they safe to use? And how often can I use them?

Ask for movicol, I was horrendously constipated during both of my pregnancies, and lactulose didn't make a bit of difference. Movicol was a miracle for me, safe in pregnancy.

It's miserable, isn't it? Don't worry, it passes (sorry, couldn't resist that pun Grin)

What worked for me was lots of bean stew, all bran and drinking about 8 pints of water a day.

Thank you both. I had movical in my last pregnancy and it didn’t really work then but I think I still have some so I’ll check the date and try it now.

Coffee will sort you out

Get a stool to rest your feet on when you go to the toilet! That and coffee worked wonders for me!

TMI but all sorted! The movical worked! I already use a stool-definitely helps! Thanks everyone!
