Bleeding at 12+4 weeks pregnant

Hi ladies, so basically this post is about what it says in the title. I was 12 weeks and 4 days pregnant as of yesterday and at about 6pm I went to the bathroom and noticed I'd had a bleed. It wasn't heavy but it was enough to be very noticeable in my underwear. When I wiped there was a fair bit of blood too and some small pin prick clots. I obviously panicked and rang the maternity advice line and all they advised was wear a pad to monitor it and ring back if it gets worse. They asked if I had any pain which I didn't and I still don't, other than a tiny bit of mild cramping but I'm not even sure if that's just my mind playing tricks on me. My first scan is booked for Wednesday when I'll be 13+2 so they said they wouldn't be able to get me in for a scan since as I'm already booked in. The bleeding is still going but it has slowed down a bit, and it's now watery and bright red rather than dark red and thick. Should I be concerned and has anyone else had the same thing? Should I ring up today and demand a scan? This pregnancy is very soon after my daughter as she's only 6 months so I'm wondering if it could be that...

Worried😢

Hello, I had bright red heavy bleeding with clots pretty much every day from 5 weeks-8weeks and was told they couldn’t explain it because they thought I’d miscarried but I hadn’t. I’ve recently had another scan at 9 weeks and all is good. I was told that although bleeding is not good, if it’s not accompanied by severe pain then that’s a good sign. My daughter is 15 months old so I also wonder whether it could be to do with that? Please try not to panic, I know it’s easier said than done but just try to be positive, sending lots of hugs your way xxxxx

Oh sorry you're going through the same thing but glad everything is okay with the baby! I know that the NHS says that if you have a new baby too soon after delivering you can end up with placental abruption and that can cause bleeding, so I'm wondering if it could be to do with that. I just can't stand waiting till Wednesday to find out if everything is okay😔 I'm tempted to pay £79 and book a private scan for tomorrow. I'm hoping that its just that I've been over doing it lately, I fell over last week and badly sprained my ankle so for a few days I was on crutches/hopping and crawling round the house 🙄 xx

I would definitely pay for a private scan just to give you peace of mind, at least it will be money well spent! Please let me know how you get on xxxxx

I went to hospital earlier today with a bit of pain and they moved my scan to Monday instead of Wednesday. Literally pulled up at my front door and had a huge gush of blood followed by lots and lots of heavy bleeding and massive clots. My partner rushed me back to hospital and they've told me im miscarrying. They've done two examinations and removed most of the 'pregnancy tissue' but they're still unsure as to whether the rest has gone or not so they're keeping me in till theyre sure I'm okay to go home. Xx

I'm so sorryThanks

Thank you everyone, I was made to stay in hospital overnight while they did a few more examinations and removed the rest of the pregnancy. I'm home now and resting. Absolutely heartbroken but I guess this baby just wasn't meant to be xxx
