Did my waters break or was it just great sex?!

So I'm 37+3, me and my partner have been having great sex at least twice a week (great considering I have a huge bump!) Last night when he was giving me oral sex, I orgasmed and I do tend to 'squirt'. But this time there was a lot and I actually couldn't sleep on the bed because it was a big wet patch. Could it of been my waters? Or was his mouth just great?!

No idea... you know squirting is just urine though right? So you’re probably more likely to squirt whilst pregnant I suppose?

Possibly, it was just strange how much, and also this morning I've woken up with an aching back and pelvis..

Did it smell like semen? Your waters have a very particular smell! May be wise to ring your maternity assessment unit for advice/to be check over

I’d assume if it was waters, you’d be leaking still (you’d know if they’d all come out at the time!) unless it was hind waters? Those never broke separately for me so unsure what that’s like..

When my waters broke I continued "dribbling" onto my feet for quite a while, despite a massive initial gush. So if it only happened at orgasm and you weren't still dripping on your feet when you stood up it was just the sex.

If your waters break they're still being produced so you carry on leaking.

The only way to know is to go in for a checkup.

When my waters broke I needed a bath towel plus anything absorbent I could get my hands one between my legs to mop it up and it didn't stop leaking. It is quite unbelievable how much liquid one womb can hold. Must have been at least two gallons.

But always worth getting checked out - the waters breaking early can be a sign that the baby needs to get out.

When my waters broke not that much came out - I think I remember vaguely it was the baby's position stopping the rest of the waters escaping then?

But if it's not a lot, doesn't mean it's not your waters breaking.

Squirting hasnt been proven to be urine at all and its only people who dont do it who say that cause they know no different. It quite clearly isnt and comes from my vagina not urethra.

Not just pee. And also the amount of urine from each woman varied. A much large study needs done to get conclusove evidience because theres likely women who can secrete psa without urine. Mine doesnt smell anything like urine and its not straw coloured. Pretty confident what my own vagina does 😂

With one of my DS my hind water broke and after an initial gush his head was blocking any further leakage and it stopped. So it could indeed be hind waters.

The studies about squirting are inconclusive as although some have found the fluid contains urine, many other studies have found hardly any traces of urine. I don't know why people are always so keen to convince everyone it's urine, seems like a strange thing to be so bothered about.

But to answer your question, it probably wasn't your waters as I think you'd have carried on gushing/leaking. Worth calling your MW though, just to check.

Waters are kind of greasy and have a sweeten smell with white flecks. I reckon what you had is a mixture of urine and discharge but best be checked out.

Also just a tip but oral sex isn't always considered safe in pregnancy. Something to do with air bubbles getting inside.
