HELP - I am 31 weeks pregnent and have been sooo good at eating sensibly throughout. In total I've put on one and a half stone. Now, however, all of a sudden I just cant stop eating anything and everything - chocolate, crisps, chips, pasta, biscuits, sweeties...

Has anyone else found this? Is this normal?

yep and yep! just enjoy it. i went through a few phases like this during pregnancy and am now back to my old weight - baby is 10 months, but couldn't be arsed dieting. it comes off eventually.

OMG yes !! I'm 36 weeks and have been literally stuffing myself for a good 2-3 weeks now . Right now I've just had dinner and the only thing I can think of are how many biscuits I'm going to allow myself with my rapsberry leaf tea! I try to eat sensible stuff, lots of salads and fruit but there's too much nice stuff out there . I've only put on a stone and a half so far, so not too bad. Hmmm, that will be one more biscuit tonight then
oops, have to go, my tea's ready...

Yup. Was only wanting super healthy food and only put on a stone up until 33 weeks. After 34 weeks I suddenly became driven to eat, eat, eat and I only want all the wrong things. Am now another stone heavier at 38 weeks!Baby growth spurt? Laying down fat for breastfeeding?Who cares just pass me the jaffa cakes.

RGPargy · 24/05/2007 12:26

Mmmmmm..... Jaffa cakes........

runs to Tesco

Oh God -I haven't set you off again have I? I got sick of the sight of magnums. Now seem to be craving white bread jam sandwiches -how gross is that?!

Princesspowersparkle · 24/05/2007 13:47

Oh no- not magnums again!! My thing this week has been wine gums which I'm having to sneak in at work as DH as gone on a health drive so house is full of rabbit food. He said he didn't want a baby that had to go cold turkey off of sugar and was hyper...
PPS(31+6) xxx
(At least I don't have 2 lunches anymore. What more does he want??)

RGPargy · 24/05/2007 13:48

I think you may well have done, yes, although i never did go through with the white magnum threat - my DP wouldn't let me have any

However, i have just bought 5 jaffa cakes from the cafe downstairs. Yummy!! I'll have them with a nice cup of tea after my jacket spud with cheese (which is my current favourite).

Also, there is nothing wrong with a jam sarnie!! I love them!!

beckmo · 24/05/2007 13:50

LOL!It really has just been in these last few weeks that I have needed to eat sugar. Not sure if it is partly to do with the waiting though...don't think so. I have to have it. I won't be telling DH though just in case I have a ban imposed on me too!

RGPargy · 24/05/2007 13:52

PPS - I was having enormous cravings for fruit pastille type things, but then i realised it was actually those Newberry Fruits i was after, not fruit pastilles. I discovered this, of course, AFTER i ate the fruit pastilles.

RGPargy · 24/05/2007 13:55

It's not sugar with me so much (yeah right!!). It's more carbs. I've got to have my spuds, whether it's boiled, chipped, jacket, whatever.

I dont know if it stems from being a low carber in my pre-pg life. I'm not sure i could face a life without carbs at the moment!!

beckmo · 24/05/2007 13:56

God Newbury fruits -do they still make them?!I have a packet of fruit pastilles in my hospital bag. Can't keep eating my supplies though....

Princesspowersparkle · 24/05/2007 14:02

What are newbury fruits- never heard of them but want them now... !!

RGPargy · 24/05/2007 14:03

PPS - they are very much like Fruit Pastilles but are much softer and i think (if memory serves me right) they have a juicy bit in the middle.... ?

RGPargy · 24/05/2007 14:05

Hmmmm dont think they make them anymore tho. Bugger

Princesspowersparkle · 24/05/2007 14:09

MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
