Hi all,

I did start another thread on this a while back but not sure i posted in the right place. I started bleeding on day of ovulation (exactly 4 weeks ago today). I've bleed significantly every day except 2. 2 weeks ago i got a bfp at the docs (via bloods). Last week the hcg levels had risen and got more bloods done yesterday that i'm waiting on the results of. Got another strong line on tesco pg test yesterday. However, i'm increasingly concerned about the level of bleeding, it alternates from pink, to bright red, to brown, from lightish bleed to heavy period like bleeding. This week i got heavy bleeding fri, sat, then light on sun, mon and then really heavy last night and today, accompanied by a lot of cramps. Is this the end? Has anyone elsed had this experience? Just want some similar stories so that i don't drive myself mad wondering what's going on. Can't see much evidence of this amount of bleeding going on for so long :( Thanks in advance.

Hi deli, My only advice would be to be insistent with the gp about getting this checked and referred to your local early pregnancy unit. Is this your first pregnancy? Hoping everything is ok for you and works out Thanks The only thing I would say is you may not be able to get scanned until you are at least 6 weeks as I had a similar situation. I would also say try to avoid googling too much. I've been through similar to what your describing although bleeding started around implantation and didn't stop. Every one is different and 2 people might have identical types of bleeding but completely different outcomes, I would say just keep seeing doctor / getting referred as they are the only people who can tell you what's going on. I spent a lot of time googling symptoms and in the end it just stressed me out even more. Hope you're ok and hope you can talk to someone about this, it is hard not knowing whats going on. xx

Hi sparkling,

Thanks so much for replying. They wouldn’t scan me because they said it was too early. However, my bloods came back last week and my hcg levels had dropped so they said that was the beginning of the end. Am still bleeding but Its lighter now so I’m presuming it’s miscarried now and that’s why it’s tapering off. Have to go back in Friday for more bloods to check that the hcg is fully gone. I’ve two little girls. So this was my 3rd pregnancy. Hoping all will be ok with future ones. What was your situation if you don’t mind me asking? Xx

Hi Delie, sorry to hear that. Hope that you're doing ok. I had bleeding from about 3 weeks ish, until 8 weeks when I miscarried. Until about 7 weeks it had been light, and scans showed the baby had started to develop. But at 7 weeks the bleeding got heavy and they confirmed I was having a threatened miscarriage, then confirmed the natural miscarriage. At the time though I read so many different stories and some women who had had the same had been ok so it was really confusing. Hope that you're ok Thanks

Thanks Sparkling, I’m so sorry to hear that. Hope you’re ok too. It’s very upsetting. I ended up taking myself to A&E on Tuesday as had a lot of pain in the middle of the night. Found no evidence of any pregnancy in my womb but found a mass on my ovary so I’m now being treated and monitored for ectopic. At least I know now, had known for a good while now that it wasn’t a viable pregnancy but didn’t really expect it to be ectopic. Am very glad I know, and everything now makes sense as in why the bleeding started on day of ovulation rather than further on down the line since the egg never quite made it out of the ovary before it was fertiliser. All very strange but true. Thanks for your response. Xx

Hi Delie, I'm fine now, thank you, like you I had already assumed it wasn't viable. Hope that everything goes ok with your treatment and glad it was caught early. Xx

You too xx
