Hello all,

this is my first post on here, I am after advise. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant (first pregnancy after 3 miscarriages) and my trousers are starting to feel very tired, mainly my work trousers, every time I sit down the zip and button undo. I have tried to search the internet for some trousers like the ones which have buttons on the side to loosen them up, like for kids if you know what I mean, but came across number of issues, A) all I can find is just pants over belly, obviously it's too early for these, and B) I am plus size, size 20/22 mainly due to my huge bottom, and I am also tall, if I find size 20 they are short and I look like I am ready for big water crossing or something. Any suggestions where to look please?
I was shocked to see that M&S only does maternity to size 18 :(
Thank you for any suggestions

I've found Gap to be pretty good length wise, and quite generous sizing so you may be able to size down. I've just gone with the over bump trousers, mainly because I have a horrific c-section overhang, but I wear a cantaloop bump band with them. It's quite tight, so holds the trousers up but also has a Spanx style effect on your stomach in the early weeks then just gives a nice bump shape as you grow. Also just looks like an extra longer layer, so can stay in normal tops for longer. Dorothy Perkins and George(Asda) have been my go to shops this time. Good luck!

@Thistles24 thank you, problem with GAP is only up to size 16/18 in trousers other stuff is ok just trousers not great for me :( I was told to try Dorothy Perkins and will look. Asda doesnt do work trousers :(

I'm similar (although not as tall as you) and came across this website which I am going to look at once my stomach starts expanding.

bigbirthas.co.uk/pregnancy/plus-size-maternity-clothes/

She details all of the sizes that each places goes up to which I find very helpful.

Yours Clothing www.yoursclothing.co.uk are doing a maternity line.

They also have trousers that are 32" inside leg if that's any use?

Magicstar1 · 19/06/2018 12:10

Avoid Evans as their clothing is now horrid and DP pretty much same.

YOURS Clothing range do a maternity range online and it covers petit to tall too.

Congratulations!!!!

AnguaUberwaldIronfoundersson · 19/06/2018 13:29

Yours Clothing & Bon Prix do a good range

narnie55 · 19/06/2018 14:42

George at asda do a great range and the prices arnt to bad either also matalan do a maternity range. Both online only. But the sizes are reasonable i am 5ft10 and a size 20/22 pear shape so mostly carry my weight at my hips and bottom and they fit lovely. Also i wore over the bump clothing quite early on in my pregnancy just because it was comfy especially at work.

MrsJFKtb · 19/06/2018 15:22

Next do some nice under the bump large elastic waist type ones or I go to Asda for over the bump stuff......
Wouldn't worry about it being too soon or anything just wear whats comfy!! x

Liverbird77 · 19/06/2018 15:52

Sainsburys is always worth a look

biscuitaddict · 19/06/2018 20:09

ASOS for basics may be?

Pinkbetty · 19/06/2018 22:18

I had this problem, and ended up getting some Next ones in a long length. Much better!

Petypop · 20/06/2018 09:13

@narnie55 thank you I am similar to you, so that should be ok, however I did look on ASDA and couldnt find any work trousers there

@Pinkbetty thank you, I had a look on next but everything above 18 is sold out especially when it's Long :(

StruggsToFunc · 20/06/2018 09:54

H&M. Decent selection of bigger sizes and leg lengths are long.

Petypop · 20/06/2018 10:23

@StruggsToFunc thank you but I dont shop H&M as their sizes are 2 to 3 sizes smaller than highstreet, there actually was something in a papers recently that they will change on to standard sizing for UK and Europe. It always made me depressed to go shop there, even when I was smaller size, yep I am strange :)

Im 6ft2 and a size 20, I lived in the yours maternity range when I was having DD as very little else fit over my bump. Also Sainsburys do a long line vest up to a size 24, it's £5 stretchy and comes in black and white, I found a size up in one of those to be super comfy and supportive for my bump

Petypop · 20/06/2018 11:59

@GivingUpMyDream thank you
