Hi,this is my first time posting here and just looking for any advice that can be given on my situation.

I am currently 9 wks and since about 5 weeks I have suffered with extremely bad sickness, I struggled to keep food and liquid down and was told it was hypermesis. Then on Saturday, I woke up and whilst I still felt sick, I didn’t vomit all day. Having had a previous miscarriage at 12 weeks and experienced the same pattern I went into panick and paid for an early scan the next day. I was elated to see a visual heartbeat but it was measuring just a few of days behind what would be expected. I am still not vomiting and boobs are no longer sore and I’m nowhere near as tired as I was so that reassurance just isn’t lasting long.

I would rather know what was to come and I am just certain something is wrong and really not sure where to go next. Is it possible that there would still be a heartbeat whilst hormones are dropping which would then lead to a miscarriage or am I just being very paranoid after my last loss?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There’s no guarantee, but nothing you’ve said gives any reason to suspect a miscarriage.

Statistically, once you’ve seen a heart beat, you’re very unlikely to miscarry. The symptoms waning really mean nothing... there is no standard pattern for them, so it could just be that you got lucky and have some respite from feeling ill?

Hopefully everything’s fine 👌

Try not to worry yourself over it (harder said than done, I know!) but every pregnancy is different so don't allow yourself to panic about changes in your symptoms.

I know it's early and hard not to think the worst sometimes (especially if it's happened to you before) but try and stay positive.

Good luck Smile

Thanks both, I hope so. I don’t really want to get another scan, not because of the cost but because I’ve heard they can be bad for baby. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 everything is ok and I’m worrying over nothing.

Hopefully you're just moving into the less awful stage of pregnancy!
