Hi
I'm 37 weeks and heartburn is getting worse and worse, I know it's a small thing to complain about but has anyone got any other suggestions on treating it? I'm necking gaviscon like it's going out of fashion and rennies as well, today I've managed a jaffa cake and a yoghurt all day, it's killing me!

Hey, im in the same boat Sad 37+1 and evil heartburn!! I’ve been having rennies and sucking them instead of chewing them, also lots of yoghurt and milk and avoiding all food that’s either spicy or too flavoursome!Confused
Hopefully we both haven’t got much longer to go! Apparently it gets easier when baby drops, but to be fair, my bump has always been low anyway so who knows if it even will!
I can’t have gaviscon anymore, it tastes so vile it makes my heartburn worse. Good luck! Let me know if you find some miracle cure!! Xx

My GP told me that I could buy Ranitidine 75mg over the counter (they sell it in Wilko, Savers, Tesco etc. And it's not expensive) and take one twice a day. I found it much more effective that gaviscon and rennie but you can still use those as well if you need to.

I was in hospital for a couple of days recently and checked with the doctors there who also prescribed it for me and said it was fine. If it doesn't work though do go and see your GP as they have now prescribed me Omeprazole which works even better.

Give up tea if you are drinking it.

Ranitidine!!

Grumpos · 18/06/2018 22:09

Rantitide! It’s the only thing which helps mine, as well as not eating too much garlic / onion / spice.
Heartburn is evil
