Blood test results

Had my bloods taken by midwife last Tuesday morning...the usual tests for STDs, sickle cell etc. She said they would call if there was a problem, otherwise I would get results at scan appointment which is a couple of weeks away. My question is, do you think the blood will have been tested by now and that they would've called by now if there was something wrong?

Yes, most likely you would of heard by now but there is no harm in calling the midwife to check if you are worried.

Thanks... I am worrying about everything at the moment!

They would have called you by now. It takes a maximum of 5 working days if any blood test results come back with something out. Unlike one previous GPs surgery I had maternity departments seen to be with it when it comes to contacting patients.

I was worried about my bloods....so I called to get them after 4 days. When I read the results in my notes later I noticed that they were carried out the day after my blood was taken so it is usually very quick. I reckon they would have called if there was an issue

Thanks everyone. I feel more reassured.

Definitely a case that bad news travels faster, if you've not heard everything is probably fine.
