Trouble sleeping any suggestions

I'm 35+4, and the last two weeks I've had trouble sleeping? I'll doze for and hour or two and then wake, and lay there staring at the walls.

I'm still working so it's really getting to me now....

Any suggests on anything that might help?? Anything at all?

Position change doesn't help, sleeping on my back is most comfortable but I can't do that anymore.

Thanks in advance

Not so much as any advice but I had this with my daughter whilst I was pregnant where I would just be awake from half 1 till half 4 ish every night. People used to tell me that's when I would go in to labour and they were correct 10past 2 my water broke and 5 to 5 she was out. I used to just come down stairs and read or watch tv till I fell asleep again. Hope it's over for you soon x

Could you prop yourself up on a few pillows, so you're kind of on your back but not putting pressure on yourself? That works for me sometimes; a couple of pillows and then my massive pregnancy one to snuggle back against.

I found the hypnobirthing CD always made me fall asleep. I would use it durring the day.

anotherangel2 · 18/06/2018 10:07

Posted to soon but also durring the night when I could not sleep.

I'm 37 weeks and can only sleep for three hours at a time. I was exhausted but it's ok now I've finished work as I nap in the day.
I've found nothing to help, sorry!

Had this for weeks at end of last pregnancy, just through discomfort and acid reflux. I had to sleep bolt upright and couldn't manage more than 2/3 hours straight. I got through a lot of box sets.

I'm struggling with that now but a lot earlier than you, only 16 weeks! Something wakes me, needing the loo or streaming hayfever and then I just lie there. Have started using my headspace app again to try and get my mind back in the habit of resting through meditation and hoping that helps x

The same as @anotherangel2 I am doing an online hypnobirthing course and find listening to the MP3's that came with the course always sends me back to sleep.

Only 33 weeks but already struggling to sleep :-( bring on mat leave. Apparently milk before bed can help?! Don't know if that's an old wives tales but I'm willing to try anything!!

Thanks for responses :)
Seems like not much works tbh hahaha
I'm going to try sleeping a little more upright tonight.... also went for a swim after work. Which killed me off but then I got a second wind and am now just sitting in bed debating on what to read/watch.

Or just sit in the dark until I doze off. 😬

I'd try the milk, but it gives me bad stomach 😂

Can't win

Hope everyone manages to get some rest
