Hi , will start thinking about buying some baby bits in a few weeks but I know I can be very indecisive, where do you go to try prams, look at car seats etc?

I used to have huge Mothercare, kiddicare and babies r us all within 30 mins drive of me , but over last few years they have all closed down. Do people just look at reviews and buy online now ? My DD is 9 and everywhere I shopped back then is no longer around.

Thanks!

John Lewis? We did lots of online research then went to John Lewis to look at stuff in real life, then once we’d decided what we wanted ordered it from a mix of JL, online retailers and eBay.

John lewis were really knowledgeable, had a range of products and not pushy. We tried there.

Some places also have discount baby stores nearby, which sell ex-display or last year's models. I don't know where you live but you could try Google or asking on a local parenting Facebook page?

Another vote for John Lewis. We had an appointment with them which lasted about 2 hours and they went through everything with us. I'm not sure if all branches do them (we're in London) but I think you can book online.
