After a sweep

Had a "positive" sweep today (could touch baby's head) and had lots of cramping, discomfort and the expected bleeding but does that mean it's going to work or does everyone have some reaction after and then it doesn't actually do anything?
Thanks

I had two sweeps with my first son, first one did nothing, and I’m not convinced the second one did either.. (midwife did comment that baby had lots of hair though.. 🤢).

I still went 14 days over.

Same as pp I had 2 with my first dc and despite being told I was 'definitely going to go' I still had to be induced at 42 weeks

I had hundreds of them. 3 babies in three years. Babies come when babies are ready. Good luck.

I had so many sweeps in the end. They did nothing. Had to be induced anyway. Grrr.

I had one then gave birth the following day. He was already 10 days overdue and I was already getting Braxton Hicks before the sweep. I can’t say whether or not it was the sweep that helped as I believe he was ready to come by that point. They come when they’re ready, no amount of sweeps or curry’s etc will make them come. Happens when it happens.

I was already in slow labour (I think) when I had my sweep and DD was born the next day. Not sure if the sweep helped me along or if it all would've happened anyway without it! Good luck.

I had an unsuccessful sweep on the Monday, did have a bloody show but no cramps!
Then had a 'really good' sweep on the Wednesday and was 'favourable'
Started cramping (felt like period pains at first) and bleeding and baby was born a few hours later!
I'm convinced the second sweep helped things along but who knows!!

With our first in 2014 I had a sweep before first pessary as being induced and the pessary failed but sweep worked wonders (our consultant did an old style herris sweep technique that hurt like hell then calmed down).

Backache from hell all night then waters broken at 5pm next evening and she was born 7.50am Sunday.
(Admited 2pm friday).
