Does anyone else get this? I can't work out if it's the tablets or just general pregnancy? If I'm 22 weeks do I need to keep taking them?

It’s the tablets. They are very hard on your tummy. It would help to only take it after eating but I never take anything, just folic acid for first trimester. Unless you’ve a very bad diet there’s really no need. Do try to eat iron rich foods a bit more than usual though.

Yes they were making my sickness worse. Have stopped taking them (20 weeks)

HeyDolly · 17/06/2018 16:43

It’s the tablets. I find Boots own brand ‘Pregnancy Support’ multi vitamins much better and gentler.

I'm so glad it's not just me! I will ditch them then.

Bloody horrible things. I am still taking the liquid pregnacare but early on in my pregnancy it really made me quite ill. I'm 32 weeks now and it hasn't affected me for a while

babydreamer1 · 17/06/2018 17:39

Awful things, and far too big. I used the liquid for first 12 weeks then I got the boots own folic acid and vit D which are much easier to take and no tummy upset. Have a drink of milk with them if you still struggle.

PerfectlyPosed · 17/06/2018 17:45

I've never got on with Pregnacare, in this pregnancy or my last. I just stick to the supermarket own brand ones and stop them after 12 weeks or so.

Justineshouse · 17/06/2018 17:47

I struggled with them.too. i preferred boots own brand and seven seas one

Pebblespony · 17/06/2018 17:48

I gave up. Do you need to take a multi vitamin? I just took folic acid and then iron later on.

NutButterNutter · 17/06/2018 17:53

Yeah i discovered this after 3 months. I started taking them just before bed and was fine from then on.

Chwaraeteg · 17/06/2018 17:56

The liquid gave me the most horrendous farts Blush

Havetothink · 17/06/2018 18:35

The boots ones made me sick, I just get the Tesco ones now and take them after food. They're more for you than the baby after the first trimester although I almost got told off by the health visitor 😒 apparently if you don't take them through the whole of your pregnancy they then recommend that the baby should have a vitamin d supplement from birth which I had no idea about. She also told me off for not taking breast feeding vitamins which I didn't know existed (first baby, didn't know anyone else with babies). I think they're a bit obsessed with supplements to be honest.

AnonyMousee · 17/06/2018 19:03

Remember the days when no one took any supplements and we all turned out just fine lol.

I take them but I hate them, too big and make me gag! I don't find they make me ill but I can't wait to stop taking them. X

Lightning88 · 17/06/2018 19:10

I was fine on them for my first pregnancy, but this one... I also felt really sick when taking them, so swapped to the asda ones instead! No problems after that.
