rainbowstardrops · 16/06/2018 09:42

Very probably. Good luck!

Smellyjo · 16/06/2018 09:56

Yes I agree, sounds like it! Woo! Great time to start after a nights rest. All the best.

Dvg · 16/06/2018 10:18

I'm so jealous right now as i'm waiting for mine to start :), Sounds like it may be the start of your labour.

Emz2019 · 16/06/2018 10:22

I do hope so. We have done the deed in the hope of speeding things up

Sounds like it! My labour also started with back ache in the morning. Good luck!

Emz2019 · 16/06/2018 10:37

How long did it take until it turned into something else? And what was your next sign?

Astrid2 · 16/06/2018 10:42

This is exactly how mine started.

Back pains started at 3.30am on the Thursday after a few days of tightening, losing mucous plug and emotional wreck! Every 5 mins for the next 17 hours. Then every 3 mins so went to hospital at 6pm in Thursday. Baby born 6am on Friday. Didn't have any other signs except the pain worsening. Pain was always in my back, never in my stomach. Had a massive bloody show at 5pm that's when things started to ramp up a bit. Waters didn't break until I was in hospital and they did it for me!

Emz2019 · 16/06/2018 11:37

They are still coming and I’m getting some with some pressure in my lower tummy. Iv been moving around and washing the car, Iv sat down for a rest now

Good luck! Hope to hear there has been a baby later!

Emz2019 · 17/06/2018 09:14

Well everyone it stopped once again!!! They lasted from when I woke up around 8am until about 3pm then came back at 5pm for a few hours then stopped. Today I have lost more mucus but no more pains, also two more episodes of loose stools. I’m demented

Em2019 I feel your pain. My DS2 was exactly like this. Stop/start, stop/start.

If it’s any consolation this stopping and starting will be doing something and when labour actually kicks in, it’s likely to be very swift.

Best of luck.

LostMyBaubles · 17/06/2018 10:59

Hopefully wont be too long now op. Try and stay active

ClaryFray · 17/06/2018 13:21

Stay active op. Hope it won't be long

BettyBaggins · 17/06/2018 13:23

Lol @demented! Good luck!

Emz2019 · 17/06/2018 18:36

@justvent how long did this go on for?

I was like this with DD! Two or three nights of contractions, from about 1am to 5am. It was horrible, I was SO tired when I actually did go into labour. A sweep kicked off my labour, midwife knew when she did it that I’d go into labour within a day. The contractions had been productive, even though irregular. She was right, 2 hours post sweep it kicked off and didn’t stop.

JustVent · 17/06/2018 19:15

A week.

Every single night without fail I would fall asleep and contractions would start, they would ramp up and wake me about 11pm-12am and I would lay there with them going every 5 minutes. Then I would would get up to tell DH that It’s Time and the second I sat up they would stop.

I was utter infuriated by it.

My souls explained to me that they were happening when I fell asleep because I was so relaxed and getting up ‘undid’ this. She suggested a glass of wine before I went to bed. I didn’t want to. 9 months of no drinking and it seemed wrong to do it at the very end!
But after 7 days I relented.
At 9pm I had a large glass of wine. Fell asleep at 10pm, but 11pm my doula was on her way and he was born at 3.21am.
It all happened very fast in the end. My ‘offical’ active labour was only an hour long.

That’s a big fat lie though, I don’t care what the midwife rules are, I was in labour for 5 hours, I felt it!

JustVent · 17/06/2018 19:16

Souls = Doula

Emz2019 · 18/06/2018 03:00

Hopefully he’s here soon then as it was Tuesday this started, I really thought last night it was going to keep going the pains were worse and my back was so achy it was raidiating down my legs so I was walking around and it kept coming so I decided to bounce on on My ball and it all fizzled out 😔. It’s 3am and I woke up to pee (as usual) and my back is a little achy but nothing exciting. I see my midwife again on Wednesday. But after ringing L&D yesterday I feel disheartened they told me it’s probs Braxton Hicks!!?? Surly not? They are regular and have caused changes to my cervix. I don’t know though, is there anything inbetween true labour contractions, and braxton hick contractions ?

Same here, was due on Thurs. Was awake from 3am then all fizzled out by 8am, not a sausage since.

@Emz2019, unfortunately even the real mild contractions can fizzle out before a certain point, it's why you're not classed as in actual active labour before 4cm, because it can all stop dead before this. Don't worry, they will be doing something, even if it's just softening and effacing, it will shave hours and hours off the real thing when it kicks in fully.
