So I had my first scan today. After previous ectopics and countless misscarriges was scanned at what I thought was 5 weeks.

Been diagnosed with a pregnancy of unknown origin as theres no sac/egg/yolk.

Lots of endrometrium thickening and a large cellbious cyst (what ever its called)

But no actual sign of an embryo.

Understandibly super nervous. They have reassured me saying I could well be a week behind than what I thought.

My concern though is yesterday I did a clear blue dates which said 2-3 weeks from conception. 3 weeks would match my cycle dates and when did the deed. So naturally thats what I ashumed.

But my HCG levels are 350. This seems a little low for the dates shown on the test. So now understandibly am having a mini meltdown worrying my hormones are dropping as the worst has happened.

Has this ever happened to anyone? Clear blue over dating them?

Appologies for the essay....

Also just to add...I DTD on the 25th and not again until the 5th so confused either we concieved 3 weeks ago or a week ago. So this doesnt match with what the hospital or clear blue are saying either.

I think 5 weeks would be too early for an ultrasound really.

My ClearBlue test gave me the '3+' reading and as I'd not had an LMP I just had to have the blood test and the GP 'guessed' based on my HCG levels and his guess was along the lines of 'no more than 7 weeks' but the imaging places didn't want to scan me until I was potentially 8 weeks or further. So I waited about 3 weeks for a scan and ended up having it the other day and turns out I was 9+6.

So, maybe wait another few weeks to scan again? Easier said than done without driving yourself crazy but better than getting too concerned this early on perhaps.

I am booked in for an other scan at EPU next Friday with my bloods taken every 2 days between.

Guess it is just a waiting game until now.

They will scan from 5 weeks if there is a hugh risk of ectopic. Checking the egg sac etc is in the right place.

Thats been my experience anyways.

But do agree people paying for scans and having unneccesary ones does sometimes add to worry.

I was scanned at 6 weeks based on LMP due to bleeding and they found nothing no sac etc. Rescanned 2 weeks later was 7+5 and good heartbeat. Now 34 weeks and off for yet another growth scan as baby is another biggun. Fingers crossed for you too!
