This can’t be right

33 weeks with DC2 and I’m in agony with pain under my ribs. It’s been 2-3 days and tonight I’ve been in tears over it despite hefty doses of codeine (for a different issue but it isn’t touching the sides for this!)

DC1 was so high he had to be pulled out from under my ribs with forceps during my ELCS where he was curled in a ‘n’ shape and so snuggled up in there. But I don’t remember any pain like this.

Surely a badly positioned baby shouldn’t be so excruciatingly painful? Has anyone had similar?

Pain under your ribs could be pre-eclampsia. You should call triage x

Oh really? I had that with DC1 and never had this pain. Typical DP has gone away this weekend for rugby tour, not ideal timing! Hmm

Doubly increased risk then with you having had it before. Please get checked out.

TinyTerror1 · 15/06/2018 20:06

That is awkward! Hopefully it's nothing but if you've had it before I'd definitely call. I just checked my book again and it is definitely listed as a symptom. Fingers crossed all ok x

Oh poo, I’ll give them a call once DS is asleep!

I get this every night, I have been checked out at the hospital and it's not pre-eclampsia as everything else is normal but it's so painful and makes it difficult to sleep. My friend who also had it calls it rib burn.

Justfred · 15/06/2018 21:22

I have this too, it's not pre-eclampsia in my case. My fundal height is measuring about 5/6 weeks ahead and it's where her bum is on my ribs. It's really painful although it does come and go.

I hope your pain isn't pre-eclampsia, just wanted to say I know how you feel, along with spd and back pain I feel like I've been hit by a bus!

What did they say @icklepickle101?
