Does anyone know if a trip to the hygienist would be free? Or is it just normal dental work?

Pretty sure it's essential only - unless it varies by area. Hygienist isn't covered unfortunately.

It’s just normal NHS services. But a hygienist isn’t expensive so I’d just pay privately if that’s what you want to do.

scale and polishes (a basic clean) provided by the dentist is covered in your maternity exemption. pregnant woman get free dental treatment as gum issues are quite common during pregnancy. this is why you are entitled to free treatment. hope this helps :) x x
