Antenatal classes

Hello

Does anybody know if antenatal classes (as invited to by the midwife) fall under the paid time off for antenatal care criteria?

Baby brain is strong today and I want to get my thoughts together before I go to my boss with the request - even if I do use annual leave to attend!

Thanks

Yes they should do. I’m doing evening classes but my friend is doing nhs ones in the morning and gets time off for it.

Yes they do. It includes all kinds of things even exercise classes, parenting classes, etc, if recommended by a healthcare provider.

Thank you so much!

I had a look at the maternity policy where I work and it says time will be given for parentcraft and relaxation classes but nothing about antenatal classes!

I think 'parentcraft' is just a weird word for antenatal, as the antenatal classes definitely teach you about parenting.

@TinyTerror1 I did wonder what parentcraft would be. I didn’t think the NHS (where I work) would have given me time off to attend classes on how to knit booties and such but I wasn’t sure Grin
