Sharp, stabbing pains?

26 weeks pregnant and for the last 4/5 days I've had a sharp pain every so often under my bump on the left hand side. It's happened perhaps 15/20 times a day and last probably about 5 /10 seconds a time.
It literally has me doubled over and gasping.

If I could compare it in intensity it's like dental pain - that kind of sharp, stabbing nerve pain that makes you see stars.

It's my second baby and I have a cervical stitch in. All has gone well with the stitch and my cervix is the best length it's ever been. I had post delivery pre-eclampsia in the last pregnancy but I've never heard of pain like this being linked to it.

Baby seems to be moving normally, I do have SPD though.

As it only lasts a few seconds at a time I don't know if I should be bothering traige about it. Has anyone had anything similar?

I’d definitely report any significant pain in pregnancy. If you don’t want to contact day assessment you could just see your GP or phone your midwife.

Definitely call labour ward. It could well be nothing - but my friend had what she described as a 'stitch pain' in her bump and it was placental abruption, she was fine (although had to have a section) but it can be serious.

Thanks for your messages, I've got myself all in a state by google searching abruptions which is a stupid thing to do.
I called the Maternity Triage and they asked if there was any bleeding which there isn't.

They said to go up tomorrow if still worried.

@waterjungle I had a placental abruption and had no bleeding at all. Please go and get checked if you're still in pain x
