i'm about 5/6 weeks pregnant and few days ago i woke up with severe cramps in night. i'm generally prone to feinting so lay in bed until they stopped maybe for 30 mins or so! i also had a bit of a cold sweat.

anyway its 3 days later no blood, but i feel conspicuously like i might not be pregnant anymore. just not feeling anything, pregnant or else.

so do i have to wait 6 weeks until 12 weeks scan to find out?! seems like torture.

GP wont be able to do anything? would they refer me based on the above?

A&E? i guess ill be waiting along time as it was a few days ago the cramps. will they scan?

Should i pay for a private scan, one of these early 6 weeks + scans? around 90 pounds.

i'm praying it is all good, this is my first! please advise!!!

Hello, I’ve just posted something similar as I’ve been having tummy cramps for the last week on and off and I’m also 5-6 weeks pregnant. I feel constantly SO bloated like I’m carrying around a huge balloon which I really don’t understand when the baby is the size of a seed! But also every so often get cramps, I wouldn’t say severe but they do keep me awake at night. I’ve got a midwife appointment on Friday so will see what she says then and have also decided to book in for an early scan privately when I’ll be 7 weeks. Like you this is my first and I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks earlier this year so am so worried and paranoid about everything!
But from what I’ve read online cramps do seem to be fairly common and normal and as long as you’re not bleeding try not to worry too much unless they get worse (Essier said than done!) x

Any constant or regular pain should be checked out. In my area I had to be referred by my GP to the EPU but this happened really quickly and I have been under the EPU since the very early weeks of my pregnancy (now 7 weeks).

Hi hopeful8,

I was wondering how you're feeling now that you're further along? (I'm guessing close to your 12 week scan now?) I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and over the past couple of days have experienced really uncomfortable cramping and I'm so worried something is wrong. I've read so much that says it's normal, and I've not experienced any bleeding, but this is my first pregnancy and I just don't know what to expect!

Hope all is well and I look forward to hearing from you! Smile
