Call the labour ward, but it could be yes.

Call them staright away the number will be in your notes.

Mokepon · 11/06/2018 22:03

Yes, call them but I wouldn't panic.
You can have this as the plug can partially come away but can also repair as far as Im aware.
But really better to get checked out by the professionals and they won't mind seeing you.

I just came out of hospital Friday for threatened preterm labour. I’m not getting any other signs now though they stopped all that.. baby feels low and his discharge is thick green and got slight blood in it..

No it isn’t an obstetric show, it is heavy discharge (or the aftermath of intercourse!) The mucous plug is anyway irrelevant at any gestation. Call the number on your notes if you have regular, painful tightening, blood loss or liquor (waters) but the mucous plug does not denote the start of labour.

Bumpandus · 11/06/2018 22:51

I think I will just see if I get any tightenings by morning

OP posts:
Bumpandus · 12/06/2018 00:35

I’m getting irregular tightenings can’t seem to pinpoint a pattern just yet .. maybe it’s just baby wriggling around! Quite painful when I get right though ..

I’d maybe be wanting to get a swab or some advice anyway tomorrow. Green isn’t really ever a good colour to have coming out your body. I had a brownish green discharge when I had group B strep in pregnancy. It was treated by antibiotics at that point and again in labour. And baby was monitored etc.
My mucous plug was clear and stretchy with bloody streaks. And it did denote me going into labour.

Isadora2007 · 12/06/2018 00:47

In fact with your risk of preterm labour and your tightenings. I’d suggest contacting the unit tonight to ask their advice.

JustVent · 12/06/2018 06:58

The mucous plug is about 10 times the size of that. It’s HUGE.

JustVent · 12/06/2018 06:58

And it looks completely different.

When you have a show, you will have absolutely no doubt at all as to what it is.

Bumpandus · 12/06/2018 08:04

With my daughter I never lost my mucus plus or had a bloody show and my waters never went just went into spontaneous labour at 32 weeks.

It would have happened but probably whilst you were in labour or probably just before you she was actually born.

That’s what tends to happen to me.

But yes the show is enormous, and like something you have never seen before (unless you have seen one before). I guess if you’re brave there’s pics on Google images...

mayhew · 12/06/2018 08:11

You might be in the earliest phase of labour. As a midwife, I would consider your symptoms suspicious and I'd want to see you.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 12/06/2018 08:30

Please call your midwife!

Bumpandus · 12/06/2018 09:22

I am seeing my midwife on Thursday so I will tell her then unless I get any other symptoms.

Just before I went into the active labour stage I lost a lot of blood so maybe it was in there the first time?

Mousefunky · 12/06/2018 09:56

My mucus plugs looked like that but there was more of it, it came away gradually over the course of a day or two and with DC3 I had blood mixed in with it. I hope all is ok for you OP Flowers.

Bumpandus · 12/06/2018 10:34

Hi yeah I’m fine. I have had bits of this mucus coming out for a couple of weeks but only tiny bits and no blood. Last night was the first bit with the streaks (see above).

OP posts:
Bumpandus · 13/06/2018 15:42

It’s now coming out less but clear with the same streaks I can feel pain in my cervix too
