Maternity allowance

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place o post this but doing a search everything in the past relating to this topic has been in this pregnancy feed so giving it a bash (no recent feeds that I can tag into for advice)

I am currently working full time but on a fixed term contract which ends at the end of June. It was a 1 year contract.
I am due 30th october so not miss the maternity pay entitlement from current employer by 3 weeks 😩

I think I am entitled to maternity allowance as I have worked more than 26 weeks in the last 66.
I am looking into getting some short term temporary work for a couple of months from July to bring me closer to my due date.

What I am unsure of is would me taking temporary work affect me being entitled to maternity allowance? I don't want to risk not getting that for the sake of 2 months wages......
and does mat allowance take into account my husbands wage?

I phoned citizens advice but they weren't much help on the phone and told me to go to a bureau.

Are citizens advise the best people to contact or is there a better advice line that could give me definitive answers?

Any advice welcomed Smile
Thanks x
