Urine sample has a trace of blood

So gave a urine sample today at my midwife appointment & said there's a trace of blood. Will be sent for further testing. What does that mean? Hmm

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Have you had an internal scan or sex recently? It could possibly be that? How far along are you? X

You maybe have a slight infection. They will have sent it away to check for bacteria.

My first thought was UTI.

Give your MW a call Smile they really shouldn't be leaving you hanging over stuff like this. I'm sure he/she won't mind you asking for clarification as to what it could mean, and they should really be explaining things and putting you a bit more at ease anyway.

It was the midwife that told me when she checked it with a stick. She did say she's going to send it off for further testing & ring me with results. She said it could be a start of a infection. I had a infection couple of weeks ago which I had antibiotics for so would have thought it cleared. I'm 16weeks.

Wasn't the best idea to come home and start googling & first thing I saw was infection or from the kidney

This happened to me last Thursday and I'm patiently waiting on a phone call with the results. I had a kidney problem in my teens that is essentially dormant, but now I'm worried it's going to cause problems with my pregnancy...I'm now in my 30s and 14+3. Hoping the phone rings tomorrow!

I hope this will reassure you that I had a uti when pregnant and I did end up in hospital but my baby was absolutely fine.
