7 weeks pregnant and bleeding

Hi

I am 7 weeks and have been having spotting/bleeding. No tummy cramps or pains. Me and my husband had sex Saturday night. I woke up 7.30am on Sunday after having a dream I was weeing on the toilet! I quickly shot up thinking I was going to wee myself, went for a wee and wiped and there was blood on the tissue. It was was dark in colour and sometimes really brown. I rang 111 and they said it’s difficult to tell right now because the only symptom I have is bleeding. She told me to wear a pad because it’s more than likely it will carry on. It did carry on, sometimes red sometimes brown. It Wasn’t constant rushing out (sorry tmi) but spotting through the day. There wasn’t enough to fill a pad its just a bit on the pad. I’m hoping it’s old blood!

I went for a wee not long ago and there was a clump of black blood on the sanitry towel, I wiped it off with the tissue paper because I wanted to make sure there wasn’t any passing tissue in it. It doesn’t seem there is, I’m sure I’d know if there was. It just looked like a old bit of dried up blood.

I have a early scan tomorrow in the morning.

I then started to over think everything and noticed my boobs have changed back to the shape they were before I was pregnant! But I feel so sick this morning, as of Wednesday last week my morning sickness and hunger were getting worse so I am hoping it is just because we had sex!

Has this happened to anyone before? I wasn’t going to post anything originally, I mean what is the point? I will only know what is going on tomorrow so asking on here isn’t going to change anything but I still wanted to hear what others think!

Thanks

I have cervical ectropion and also had bleeding at around 6-8 weeks. Just slight spotting and as you mentioned, nothing enough to fill a pad. I also had a couple of small, black clots.

Myself and OH haven’t had sex since we got our BFP because even though we now know the bleeding is harmless I still get worked up and into a state when I see blood on the TP.

I mentioned to the midwife that I found it unusual that I was bleeding as I NEVER bleed in between periods and she basically said that during pregnancy, the blood to your cervix increases and it’s incredibly sensitive which is probably why I’ve experienced this bleeding.

Had an early scan where I was 7+1 ish. Should be 9+5 today.

Good luck for this morning OP x

Hiya

Thanks for your replies!

Went to my scan, she said it’s normal and to keep and eye on it. But I found I am pregnant with twins!! So I now need regular appointments to keep an eye on things etc. I also have two cysts on my left ovary but she said it looks fine.

My only worry now is people at work finding out! My manager isn’t being discreet but I’m hoping people won’t ask anything if they do I will deny it! It’s really rude if they ask anyway!

Thanks guys

Congratulations! Amazing news!

BTW if yoy told your boss in confidence and told them you do not want them to disclose your need to anyone yet they have to keep it confidential ........... if they don't you have every right to take out a grievance.

News not need

Thank you! She also saw two healthy heartbeats so I am assuming this is a good sign. And she said they are in seperate sacks but quite a bit of distance between them which she mentioned is good because it usually means it’s a healthier twin pregnancy. Obviously I’m not passed 12 weeks yet but now I know I will have more regular scans because it’s twins it really puts my mind at ease knowing that I will be kept an eye on regularly :)

We are both really happy and excited but worried how the bloody hell we will afford it! It will be tough but I’m sure we will manage like everyone else does.

If anyone has any advice/tips to do with twin pregnancies it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone :)

Congrats! 2 sacs doesn't mean healthier.... it means less risk of complications as the babies don't share a placenta/ umbilical cord or amniotic sac. They will be non identical. I think they tend to deliver twins a few weeks early around 36/37 weeks so bear that in mind. Twins run in my family so I'm really hoping I'm not carrying twins! I'm 7+1 today so very similar to you!

Ah thank you for the info! :) I guess it would explain why I am so insanely hungry all the time and feeling sick all day at the same time 😂 The only time it goes away at the moment is in the evenings which is good because I can go home and relax.

Well even if you do get twins count it as a blessing. It’s easy to say oh god no but I’m really grateful. It’s my first pregnancy too so it’s quite scary that I’ve got double whammy straight away but I’m sure I’ll cope. Us woman shock ourselves sometimes don’t we!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 😊
