Nasty Fibroids

Hi,

I have recently been diagnosed with fibroids in the 2nd trimester and after a week in hospital trying to manage the pain, and a week resting at home I am beginning to feel better. However I am aware they have not gone away and need monitoring and might degenerate and cause the pain again.

I just wondered if there is anyone else out there who is going through the same thing?

😊 xxx

I had fibroids with dc3, I didnt really know what to expect they told me so casually and I had to ask for more info.
I did have a scare the first time they were shown to me because they were bigger than the baby but he soon overtook them!
I had to have a few extra scans to make sure they were not getting too big but they were growing quite slowly.

Apart from the pain I dont think they caused any issues with my pregnancy.

Whenever I was feeling abit tender I had a microwave beanbag i used to shove down my pants 😅 I would even take it out with me it was so frustrating, I swear my labor pains were a relief after that.

If you are unable to manage the pain, or it appears to spread do go back to your midwife or call antenatal team at the hospital they should be able to book a scan and have a look.
xx

Thanks 😊 did yours 'degenerate' ... what was the pain you felt? I am now feeling sore and swollen and achey whenever I move around much as well as the occasional stab from the one that degenerated! Who knew these things existed?!
