How to feel happy again

Hi all, I’m 6 weeks pregnant after trying for about 8 months and we’re so happy and excited. But I can’t help feeling totally down in the dumps, I barely have any pregnancy symptoms which makes me worry, and I’m currently in the middle of a really bad bout of asthma. I generally feel really groggy and bored and I just can’t shake it. I’m not doing any more or less than before I got pregnant but I just feel bleughh, and am becoming very needy which I don’t want to put strain on my relationship with my husband.

Did anyone else feel like this? If so how did you get over it?

Thanks

The first 12 weeks are a long old wait and it's hard to get through it without being anxious or uncertain of what is going on with your body. Lots of people range from no symptoms to severe, I have had varying pregnancies where I had no symptoms once and then crazy nausea and tiredness in my current one!
Maybe you could look into a private scan in he next couple of weeks just to put your mind at ease? They start at about £40 I think and are very common nowadays.
Don't be too hard on yourself, it's a big change for your body to go through and you just need to take it a day at a time and be honest with your partner about how you feel - he should take some of the load too! X

You're not alone!

I suffer anxiety anyway but it has flared up during the first trimester and it's horrible when you want to enjoy being pregnant!

I was worried about my lack of symptoms at 6 weeks too but just a week and a little later I am paying for it with the nausea! That being said, my friend is 19 weeks and if it weren't for the bump she'd forget she was pregnant due to the lack of symptoms!

It is worrying when you can't see baby and know that all is well but symptoms can start anytime and even if you get none it's still not necessarily a bad sign!

Good luck Grin
