Hungry but don't fancy anything to eat

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and having weird food aversions, can't face eating anything but am so hungry. Will fancy something- eg just put a sweet and sour chicken in the oven, and now I can smell it cooking want to throw it away and have a tin of beans instead. If I cook the beans I bet I won't eat them.

Have so many food items in I've bought desperately wanting them then have a tiny bit and don't want any more. Does anyone else have this?

Yes, 27 weeks with DC2 and was same in my first pregnancy, particularly in the evenings 🤷🏼‍♀️
Coco pops are often the only thing I can face.

MyKingdomForBrie · 09/06/2018 20:37

Yep I had this! Could walk round a whole supermarket and not find a single thing I wanted to eat. If I did fancy something by the time I’d cooked it I’d totally gone off the idea.

Yes it's completely normal. I make all of the dinners in our house and since the very start I haven't eaten a single one of them. I buy things that I fancy and then they just go off in the fridge. 38 weeks now and I've wasted a lot of food. Smoothies have helped me get through but then I still have to force it. Bread has been my main go to food but even now just thinking about it I feel sick. Hopefully it will get better for you as time goes on.

I had this. Basically lived on toast and coco pops for 2 weeks.

crumble9 · 09/06/2018 22:01

Toast was my life saver and salad!
No matter what I thought I wanted anything cooking would make me sick. Couldn't walk past the hot food in Tesco without rushing out, DH had to eat and then air out the house before I got home from work or I would spend the evening hugging the loo 😞

AJ89 · 10/06/2018 07:50

I had this until 17 weeks where I now want to eat everything!

BumbleNova · 10/06/2018 15:32

Yes I had this. I was very hungry until confronted with food then just couldn't face it... Or sometimes I was craving something, just no idea what it was I wanted.

Spidermansthong · 10/06/2018 15:33

Yes, I'm currently pretty much living on an asda bacon and chicken pie with a mashed potato topping Grin. I just wondered around for ages until I found something that took my fancy

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 10/06/2018 15:36

I found stronger flavoured things actually helped settle my stomach as they cut through my sickness. So pickled onion crisps, spicy things etc

I'm so glad I've just seen this. Think it defintiely sounds normal. I'm sitting here right now trying to actually work out if I'm hungry or not but don't want to eat anything. Very odd feeling.

BowKay · 10/06/2018 15:49

I'm glad it's not just me but I am wasting so much food! Was at a lunch party thing today and actually ate what was on offer so felt better about that- on Friday I ordered lunch in a restaurant then didn't eat it when it came. Browsing deliveroo thinking I can have whatever I want for dinner tonight and none of it looks appealing!

Same here. All I want is rice, pasta or noodles and citrusy fruits. I feel so eughhhh about food.

InDreamland · 10/06/2018 15:58

Just make sure you all stay hydrated
........need to take my own advice.

All food just doesn't taste the same at the moment, things blander than usual, like I just feel disappointed with anything I eat at the moment when I normally love those things.

KS2706 · 10/06/2018 18:01

This is exactly me at the moment!! 7+2 and will start making something and go off it by the time its ready. Today I've lived on salt and vinegar Pringles! I wasn't this bad the first time round - morning sickness has hit me harder this time!

Satsuma2019 · 10/06/2018 19:15

This is exactly whats happening to me atm. Its so frustrating because the food looks yummy but I cant handle having more than a couple spoonfuls before feeling sick.

Hope this doesnt last too long 😂

beccii161016 · 10/06/2018 21:28

YES! It's driving me mad! Never had this with my first, I loved food and so does he now he's here Grin

But this baby just doesn't like anything at all! It's driving me mad!
