Working out position from movements?

Does anyone know whether it's possible to work out (or, more likely, have a stab at guessing!) what position the baby is in from movements? I'm just coming up to 33 wks and at my 28 wk appointment the baby was breech. M/w said not to worry as plenty of time for her to move. I'm not seeing my midwife for another 10 days so am trying to work out whether she might have moved in the meantime.

I'm getting really big, almost painful, movements about 2/3rds of the way up my bump. They're not like kicks, instead I get a huge, visible bulge that will stick out to one side (usually left, sometimes right) for a few seconds. Will usually respond to me giving a gentle shove back! I get a few smaller movements further down but nothing like as frequent or noticeable as the bulges. Am hoping that the bulge is a bottom but this is my 1st so I don't know what to expect.

can you feel hiccoughs.

DS1 was breech - I used to feel the hiccups at the top of my bump. This one is head down and I feel the hiccups less clearly in my low in my bump. In fact when the midwife suspected breech she asked me where I feel the hiccups.

I have the big bulgy movements that you describe at the moment - but pretty sure I had them with DS1 too.

how do you spell hiccups?

do you get kicked in the ribs or fairly high? that would indicate that the baby is head down. I also have that big bulge on one side (quite impressive to see, isn't it?!), it's the baby's bum. Also, like dipli said, if you feel hiccups right at the botton of your bump then the baby's head down.

Sounds like a butt to me catz my ds did exactly the same thing, was like something out of alien
I could also feel him kicking my ribs so knew he was head down
