Working out position from movements?

Does anyone know whether it's possible to work out (or, more likely, have a stab at guessing!) what position the baby is in from movements? I'm just coming up to 33 wks and at my 28 wk appointment the baby was breech. M/w said not to worry as plenty of time for her to move. I'm not seeing my midwife for another 10 days so am trying to work out whether she might have moved in the meantime.

I'm getting really big, almost painful, movements about 2/3rds of the way up my bump. They're not like kicks, instead I get a huge, visible bulge that will stick out to one side (usually left, sometimes right) for a few seconds. Will usually respond to me giving a gentle shove back! I get a few smaller movements further down but nothing like as frequent or noticeable as the bulges. Am hoping that the bulge is a bottom but this is my 1st so I don't know what to expect.

Thanks for any thoughts

I find it hard to tell. This baby was breech until this wk. (scanned today) and hadn't really attempted ot move until last w/e when i had two days of v. frantic kicking. The chances are it'll turn - my sister's did at 38 wks. just hrs. before the c-section!
