I've had some light cramping this morning and awful sickness. I have just noticed bright red blood in my knickers.

What do i do?

Do i need to go to hospital?

Hello lovely. Have you seen a midwife yet? If so, call them. If not, I would pop along to A&E. Try not to panic, there are multiple things that can cause bleeding at this stage, even quite heavy bleeding, that are not a miscarriage, but I would definitely be seen as ectopic is still a possibility at this stages

hoping2018 · 08/06/2018 13:01

Give your gp a call and they will arrange for you to be seen in early pregnancy clinic.

Of bleeding is very heavy or you have lots of pain go to a and e.

Good luck x

Thank you, I haven't seen a midwife yet I'm due to see her next week.

I'll phone the gp just now

I'll try not to worry thank you

GP surgery closed, NHS 24 unable to help at this time of the day, can i call the hospital directly?

Does your hospital have an EPU? If not go to A&E. Hugs for you.

InDreamland · 08/06/2018 13:36

Check online to see if your hospital has an EPU (I know mine has one). If they do phone them up, they should be able to help, will probably ask you to go in. Failing that get yourself to A&E.

Good luck, fingers crossed for you x

I'm waiting on a call back from the PAU, most likely I'll need to go into hospital.

I'm worried sick it's bright red fresh blood and fairly heavy now.

Thank you

I've been to the assessment unit, looks like it's a mmc

I'm absolutely shattered. I was so excited. I'm on the bus home and can't stop crying.

I'll know for sure when I get more bloods taken in a couple of days time but the scan showed nothing.

Thanks for all the advice earlier.

I'm so very sorry- you must be broken hearted, and I'm sorry that you are in a bus rather than tucked up and looked after. I hope you get home soon. There are no words but for now look after you. Thanks

Patphelan, I’m so sorry too. I’ve been there and fully understand the sadness. Take it hour by hour, day by day and be kind to yourself. Sending huge hugs xxx

flumpybear · 09/06/2018 07:36

So sorry. Many of us on here have been through the same. Please take comfort in the fact that most of us went in to have healthy pregnancies and babies too - you'll get your day(s) too - promise
In the meantime grieve, but try again - often after a miscarriage your body kind of knows what to do and often you fall pregnant again soon - happened to me a few times and once one turned into my now 9 year old Thanks

Firsttimemum1829 · 09/06/2018 08:43

I am so sorry to hear this, big hugs to you x

Poor love I'm so so sorry Thanks

I got a call from the hospital around 11pm telling me that the hcg levels were nearly 4000 and they are concerned that nothing was showing on the scan.

They said they would call me first thing once they have had another opinion and get me in today to find out what's going on.

I'm so confused. She said I'm still pregnant and sounded so positive but I had quite a bit of blood - very period like and when they done the internal scan there was a lot of blood.

I'm still waiting for the phone call, I'll give them to 1pm then call in myself. I have an appointment tomorrow morning at 10am for more blood tests but they wanted to see me before then.

Thank you all

So sorry you are going through this OP, it’s so awful when you don’t know what’s happening.. but if you have pain please go to hospital ASAP no matter what.. I had hcg levels of 3000 at 9 weeks but nothing on the internal scan, turned out it was an ectopic pregnancy in my tube which is very serious and ruptured while I was on the operating table.. if I had not pushed to be seen I dread to think.. my pain was severe and on one side, I didn’t have the shoulder pain that’s typical.. really hoping it’s not that for you (I also had heavy red bleeding in early pregnancy for 4 weeks but my daughter was fine) but if you have any pain at all please don’t wait for phone calls.. wishing you the best of luck x
