Hello!
I have just found out I’m 4 weeks pregnant and I am due to do a charity walk of 40miles... doctor has advised not to do the whole thing.
I have had sponsors, which include work colleagues and I really don’t know what excuse I can use for not doing it?
Not telling people is hard Sad
I’d love any advice! Flowers

Depends, how far along would you be? If you are used to walking that distance and are careful with nutrition and hydration I don’t see why not. However if it’s in a few weeks be aware you might be floored by sickness!

It is this Saturday, I'm suffering from morning sickness already.18miles of the walk is on cliffs.
I just feel bad lying to people, saying I had a sickness bug seems a bit of a cop out!

Would they find out you didn't do it? Can you tell a white lie and say you did it? Or did half of it and has to pull out?

Could you get your DP to trade and do it for you? Say you were ill and didn't want to let people down. I know a couple that did this

^This is truly awful advice.

I live on an island so people would know if I didn't do it.
I could do part of it and say I had to pull out due to sickness.
My mum who I was doing it with is still doing it so I might say that if they are happy I've given the sponsorship money to her as she completed it.
Thank you all for being so helpful Smile
First time being pregnant, so it's all new to me!

You walk 10 miles, or however far you feel able to walk and then stop. Your friends will know that you have been training, simply say that you felt you could not continue. Then all being well you can tell them the truth in a few months.

Yea I’d do as much of it as you feel you can, there’s no particular reason not to do that presuming you are in good health, it will be governed by how you feel. I certainly wouldn’t push myself as tiredness can magnify sickness symptoms next day.
