Anterior placenta but can feel baby!

I'm 18+2 and am absolutely sure I felt baby move today. Quite low down and felt like something scraping inside me. Felt it once and haven't stopped feeling it since for the last 10 minutes. Anyone else with an anterior placenta felt movements at 18 weeks? Midwife told me it's unlikely I will feel anything before 22 weeks but I know I can feel baby, it's non stop and feels very weird!

Yes I had the same! The platena was anterior but high so I could feel things lower down quite early on (like popcorn popping). I couldn’t feel more defined kicks until much later though, probably because of the platena position.

I also felt baby quite early, I know the sort of movement you are describing. I've been trying to keep quiet about it as everyone else is complaining of no movement Wink I'm now 22+3 and she's on the move all the blooming time. I think I even felt her from the outside a couple of nights ago! I guess there are different options for where exactly the placenta is so maybe we have slightly off-centre anterior and are feeling baby round the edge? Either way it's quite nice to feel it I find Smile

Yes, two pregnancies both with anterior placentas, the first i felt movement from 20 weeks, the second about 17/18 weeks

Yep my first was anterior. Definitely felt her around 18 weeks.

Me too! DC2, told placenta is anterior but I think it must be high on the right as I've been feeling her pummel me from around 18 wks!

I have an anterior placenta (baby no 1) and first thought I felt movement about 19 weeks - it was often low down and hard to describe. I'm 27 weeks now and it's gradually increased but I still don't think I'm feeling movement as regularly as if I had a posterior placenta and there isn't a particular pattern yet. I suspect when the baby is in certain positions I still don't feel a lot. I've been able to see kicks sometimes for a 2-3 weeks now though which is pretty cool!
