Right so I have 2 girls 2 & 5 , in November 17 I suffered an ectopic pregnancy between 8 - 12 weeks I had no idea I was pregnant until my fallopian tube ruptured and I ended up in hospital. Fast forward a couple of of months and I found myself pregnant again generally I never believed I would the type of person to have a termination even more so after the pain of the ectopic but I did for numerous reasons financial issues , housing ( also have an 8 year old step son that stays at weekend and a 3 bedroom house) , I'm on standby contract at work so don't qualify for sick pay , and to be honest i just felt the 2 I already have drive me mad and didn't know how I'd cope with another so I went through with a surgical termination and had a copper coil fitted while under . Here we are 4 weeks later and I have just been for a check up to check my coil strings and how I'm feeling about it . The nurse was concerned it may not be in the right place but couldn't feel it so wasn't sure so she arranged for me to see a doctor in another 2 weeks and to just use condoms in the mean time to be on the safe side . But while driving home I thought hold on a minute that means there's a possibility I haven't actually been covered properly for the last couple of weeks so I picked up some pregnancy tests got home and low and behold I'm pregnant ... I immediately rang the nurse and told her and I'm going in to see her tomorrow for clarification ...

I don't know what to do what happens next, anyone got pregnant while they have the copper coil also been bleeding on and off since I got the coil ... I'm just so confused x

Sorry youre going through this. I had a horrible experience of copper coil perforating my uterus. I couldn't feel any strings but gp said they were there and was all fine but i later found out they wernt and unknowingly i had unprotected sex for months ended up pregnant, went for an early scan they said the coil wasnt there and must have fallen out (like i was stupid for not noticing) but later an xray showed it was in my abdomen. I went through a termination, then an operation through my stomach to have coil removed which had lodged into my abdominal wall and caused a bad infection. It was all very traumatic. Sorry don't mean to scare you. I've known women who've got pregnant with a coil in and it just sticks to placenta and the pregnancy continues as normal. What ever you decide to do don't feel guilty its not your fault it's failed
