Washing babies clothes and packing hospital bag

Hello Smile

I'll be 31 weeks this week and I'm feeling incredibly restless. I have PGP and find myself wanting to nest and prepare for baby as I'm currently off work sick. Due to this I'm limited to what I can do at the moment.

This is my first baby so wondered if it's sensible to start washing bits of clothes I plan to take to the hospital and blankets or whether it's too early and they'll require another wash if I go full term?

If you’re planning on washing everything before baby wears it you could do that now, though it won’t smell as much of washing powder in 9 weeks time I guess, but if it’s all away in the drawers etc it should be fine.

I had my bag packed from about 30 weeks for dd!

Are they second hand? If you’ve bought new I wouldn’t bother washing them. But if they’ve been worn before I’m sure one wash whenever you have time will be plenty.

I start maternity leave this week (34 weeks) and washing all of DD's clothes - hopefully some nice drying weather to get them all out on the line Grin then will be organising them all by size etc.

As for hospital bag, I haven't packed it yet but I do have a drawer that's full of the stuff ready to go - another task for next week.

Wash them now, then it's done. I've got clothes in my wardrobe I washed more than 10 weeks ago.
