Nervous is an understatement!

Words of encouragement needed please. I have to go into work first too. It's not until 12:15!

I haven't felt any movements yet I don't think, well nothing significant or regular which is making me worry but I think my bump has grown since 17 weeks.

Is it your first? I didn't feel anything until about 23 weeks (if they tell you your placenta is anterior it acts as a cushion so you don't feel the smaller movements).

I'm 19 weeks today with no. 2 and still not feeling loads, if I stop and concentrate I can feel some flutters but I know with my first I wasn't prepared to commit to definite 'baby kicks' until I was absolutely sure!

Congratulations, bump is looking good!

CathyandHeathcliff · 04/06/2018 11:15

@WinkysTeatowel Yes it's my first!
Thank you.

This is what I feel movements wise, or what I think are movements. I feel it more when I'm leaning forward?
Also when my bladder is full, sometimes especially in the evening, little kick type feelings on my bladder area. It's not everyday though.
I'm trying to keep distracted today, gone out to my fave little village for lunch and a wander. I'm off work as it's an inset day at school and I'm not needed to come in. Just typical when I had to take some time off for tomorrow!

I don’t have any words of encouragement so to speak but I have my scan tomorrow as well and completely papping myself about it!

Good luck!

WinkysTeatowel · 04/06/2018 14:32

The only way I can describe feeling the movements is to sit and really think what is 'normal' and what movements aren't your stomach/pulse etc. It gets much stronger though, try not to worry.

lovemyhorsesxo · 04/06/2018 14:32

laurenluke2017 · 04/06/2018 21:23

@CathyandHeathcliff I had a few little movements/flutters but not much I have quite a small baby too but very healthy. She said i'm bound to feel him more in the next few weeks. You'll be fine though, I literally eat whatever I want too! X

riaviolet · 04/06/2018 21:23

@CathyandHeathcliff - 👋 Hi
I'm now 21W and now starting to feel minor movements (flutters) and increased back pain!

riaviolet · 04/06/2018 21:24

Also it's my first one :)

Hopehope20 · 05/06/2018 19:01

How did it go? X

lovemyhorsesxo · 05/06/2018 20:53

I got on great all healthy and well

YorkshireBee · 05/06/2018 21:35

Oooh, mine is tomorrow! Bit nervous, bit excited. I’ve been feeling a lot of movement which I find reassuring, but just worried now that I’m over-confident. Hope everything’s OK.
Not planning to find out the sex, but I’m sure we’ll be looking to see if we can work it out!

YorkshireBee · 05/06/2018 21:37

By the way, congrats to everyone else who’s just had theirs! How long did it take? Our 12 week scan wasn’t too long, but I didn’t realise we’d have to wait around after, then go for blood test etc too, so we were there for ages! Both got to get back to work again tomorrow!

Thegirlhasnoname · 05/06/2018 22:06

Mine took about twenty minutes but that included me going for a wee mid way and a baby that did not want to stay still long enough for them to be measured properly!

CathyandHeathcliff · 05/06/2018 22:20

Mine went well, everything fine and I'm having a boy.

Mine was like 20 minutes but felt like a year :P

YorkshireBee · 06/06/2018 16:07

All done and all fine - but we were there for ages! Baby wasn’t cooperating so the sonography right had me dancing around trying to get it to move.
There’s nothing more terrifying than the point when she’s doing the scan and keeps moving it around one particular point, tilting her head and frowning... I was convinced there was something wrong. Fortunately just trying to get an angle!

TinyTerror1 · 06/06/2018 16:42

glad it went well Cathy - try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy now!
