Hi ive had 3 miscarriages, 1 missed miscarriage at 12 weeks and another natural miscarriages both under 6 weeks. Im pregnant again now and stressing over everything. I have had 2 scans one at the hospital at 8 weeks and another at 10 weeks privately both normal. Day after my private scan last sunday i had spotting, i ad af some spotting at weeks 6 and 7 doctor told me it was normal and not to worry and had 2 scans and more light spotting in between so tried to forget about the spotting last week. On thursday i did an hours low impact exercise on cross trainer and exercise bike. Then friday had a light brown bleed small amount. It stopped and then spotted off and on all weekend and again this morning it was very light spotting only when wiping and always brown. Ive never had a normal pregnacy so dont know if this is normal i know discharge increases. I have my dating svan on 19th dont know whether to wait for that or go for yet another scan.. i have all pregnancy symptoms i had before, mild nausea, tender boobs, knackered all time fell asleep twice on sofa yesterday during day. Can anyone give any advice ? Xx

I get this light spotting too in early pregnancy. Also scares me as I’ve also had a lot of early miscarriages.

In my case I just stopped doing exercise or anything strenuous during the first trimester as I didn’t want to risk it also my consultant prescribed me progesterone. I’m not sure if any of this worked but all bleeding/spotting stopped in my second trimester and I went on to finally have a healthy baby.

If you are worried I would call your EPAU and ask them for advice, they may call you in for another scan.

Both my miscarriages started with brown spotting, but when it started it was consistent. The other pregnancy signs, nausea, sore boobs etc had stopped. I no longer 'felt pregnant'.
How far along are you? Did the scan show a heartbeat?
Spotting during pregnancy does happen sometimes and if it happened after you exercised that could be why. I would contact your local EPU and ask for another scan just for reassurance.

I had brown spotting at 7 weeks (ish). I went and had an early scan and all was fine. It was just some old blood probably from implantation. I haven't experienced a miscarriage so nothing to compare to (sorry for your losses) just wanted to let you know it isn't always bad news. Fingers crossed for you.

Sometimes brown spotting is absolutely normal, I was reassured when I had it by the midwife that unless it’s red they aren’t concerned. However for me it was the only sign I had had a missed miscarriage. I would contact your GP and see if you can get a referral to EPAU. I hope everything is ok Flowers.

Hi thanks everyone.. yes the baby had a heartbeat on both scans. My biggest fear is missed miscarriage because ive had one before and thats why ive already had 2 scans the spotting has stopped now but worried to go to loo in case its started again. I hate this feeling. I feel like im wasting everyones time ringing midwife or doc as i do still feel pregnant.. i know exacly what you mean about the feeling of not being pregnant Soph88 when i found out at my 12 week scan that the baby had died.. although it broke my heart a part pf me already knew because i had stopped feeling pregnant a week or so earlier. I keep trying to enjoy this pregnancy i exercised before i was pregnant regularly and i thought low impact exercise for one hour would be fine as i had rested all week but then this. So set me off worrying again. I didnt have any symptom of a kossed misscarriage last time i just lost the feeling...If it starts again i will ring the midwife or gp and get their opinion but i did tell them last time and they told me not to worry too much if it was light bleeding as it happens everything would be okay.. thanks for your support everyone and sharing your experiences it helps a lot xxx

In the nicest way, delete the thread as reading about possible miscarriages every few minutes is not going to help with your anxiety levels. I know it feels like an eternity away but the scan is not that far away. Some spotting is quite common and may well stop but ultimately if you genuinely think something is wrong call your midwife. As you have had miscarriages in the past your worries are completely normal and understandable but maybe try and distract yourself with something else for a few hours. I know it is easier said than done though Smile. Hope everything works out for the best.

Your wrong its good to hear from other women who have had similar fears and concerns and experiences to me. All my friends have had healthy pregnancies and not experienced miscarriage and not had spotting so dont neccessarily understand although they can sympathise they dont know exactly how it is to go through these thing. It helps so much to know your not alone because miscarriage makes you feel so so alone even if your in a loving relationship the grief is unbearable. But everyones different i get that ive just found this is a good way to discuss my concerns and get advice. As i said i have been to my gp and told my midwife before about recurring spotting in between additional scans i was booked for and they have said not to worry too much about it if its very light which it was. Its stopped now anyway if it starts again i will be contacting one of them or both to get their view. Thanks for your concern for me and good wishes :) Smile
