Does anyone know if you can take any antihistamine tablets for hayfever in 3rd trimester?
Struggling without my usual loratadine (sp?) :(

I couldn't because they contain a steroid. But that was 9 years ago so things might have changed. I'd phone nhs direct and check?

I went to see my GP and he said ok to take over the counter tablets eg loratidine but I would check with your doctor.

Whilst i cant speak for individual medicines i remember i was prescribed anti histimines in third trimester by the duty doc in maternity daycare. Upon reading it there was a clear warning stating they should be used with caution in pregnancy but absolutely must not be taken in third tri.

One topical remedy for hayfever is to wipe a smear of vicks under each nostril and along the cheek line (just under where eye bags start). Ive had to do this today and its eased by bunged up nose and stopped my eyes itching like crazy

call your doc, i was suffering and they prescribed me Beconase nasal spray. My midwife told me the occasional priton wont hurt, BUT, i don't see the point in taking it 'occasionally', either i take it everyday or not at all! xx

I had to take loratidine and beconase during first trimester, I simply wouldn’t have been able to function or go to work with my symptoms as severe as they were.
I discussed with GP and made an informed decision. I recommend that you do the same.
