What on earth does THIS mean? Invalid test?

Hi everyone.

I'm currently 9 or 10 DPO and decided to grab a Sainsbury's pregnancy test. It's a bit early as my period isn't due until the 6th, but I caved and gave in to temptation

I ended up with THIS result. Wtf does this mean? The control line isn't completely filled. I've never seen this happen with a Sainsbury's test before. Is this test invalid? I must admit I didn't hold it in my stream very well and got quite a bit near the results window.

Yes, obviously it’s invalid. Just test again with a fresh one.

No, well you’re not even late yet so a negative at this stage still wouldn’t mean you were “out”.

Yes, you're right. But I had a miscarriage back in April so am perhaps a little eager to test! I'll try and restrain myself until I'm late though.

Looks like a straight forward negative test to me, doesn't mean you're out though, just testing a bit early. Fingers crossed for you x

Looks like you tested too early, or got a some wee on the control panel.

Either way, you are still in and just test again when you are late. Or at least closer to when you are due.

Don’t waste your money on these tests. Get the little strips you dip from Amazon, you can get like 15 for £3/4 (7years ago they were this price, dunno now). I got positive lines before my period was due with them.
