headache at 38 weeks...should I be worried?

Hello

Maybe it's just the frustration & impatience getting to me. However I thought I would ask anyway...should I be worried if I've had a headache for a few hours at this point?

No noticeable swelling, apart from the obvious places. No spots in the eyesight. Loss of appetite. Headache especially around the eyes and at top of the head. Usually I have low blood pressure, and I've had no worries about high blood pressure thus far.

Thanks for any input here - it being Sunday and all, guess I'm loathe to trek to hospital for no reason. Plus I've already had one false alarm...Wed I thought I was in labour but is actually just SPD!

Cheers!

have you drunk enough water? no visual disturbances etc id good

DimpledThighs · 20/05/2007 17:47

headache round the eyes is not a good sign (cpuld be but not necessariily pre-eclampsia) but I would call your midwife team or hospital asap for advice on this - esp if it has not gone. Have you taken paracetamol? Has that made a difference?

DaisysGotABigBump · 20/05/2007 17:54

Hey Lilkel.....you allright sweetie?
I'd call the MW if I were you just to be safe, if you don't think its down to dehydration or stress or is just a normal run of the mill headache

My BP is up at the moment and I've had spots before my eyes this afternoon but no headache, so I don't kow what to make of it either....think I may be being paranoid, but I've had a crap day so it may just be down to that.

DaisysGotABigBump · 20/05/2007 17:56

Don't feel bad about calling them and it being nothing....its better to have a false alarm than the alternatives.

notsolilKel · 20/05/2007 17:57

I've drunk loads and loads today actually.

Took 2 paracetemol at maybe 3, then a nap, which helped a bit, but when I stand up and walk around I still feel it behind my eyes and at the top of my head.

Hypochodriac? Too much time at PC?

This message from kel btw to one of the due in June ladies

"I'm in hospital at the moment, have been since yesterday afternoon when
I came to have my headache checked out (poss pre-eclamsia?). All's well
with baby TG, but some of my blood results now need further checking -
I'm anemic and platelets are low, and other things might still indicate
a problem. The headache is sinus-related so hasn't gone away either!
Could be another day before I go home - so guess I'll be here quite a lot
over the next week for one reason or another!! End is in sight
though...!!
That's all - give the ladies online a virtual hug for me OK?
Lilkel x x"
