Negative FRER five days before period? Am I still in with a chance?

Hi everyone.

I sadly suffered a miscarriage back in early April. I got my first period on May 9th and my fiancé and I have been TTC since.

My next period isn't due until the 6th of June, but I caved and took a FRER today and it was stark white negative. I'm 9, MAYBE 10DPO (not sure exactly when I ovulated).

My breasts are normally very sore five days before my period, but they aren't this time round. I've also been feeling queasy and been getting pulling pains in my right side, but I dunno if that's wishful thinking/my body gearing up for a period. I'm also getting a LOT of thick white discharge.

Anyone else gotten a BFN five days before period but later gotten a BFP? I know it's early but it's hard not to lose hope... Sad

Thanks!

Yes, you are still very early, even with a FRER. Take a look at the box, I think it tells you the chance of a positive if you are pregnant on each day before your period - 5 days out a lot of people will get negatives still. Give it a couple of days and try again.

I took a FRER the day before my period it was stark white - went to Poundland and bought a handful of cheap tests, did one the same day and it was a faint positive! Next day was much clearer. I'll never buy FRER again, stupidly expensive and the cheap ones give a better result! Good luck Smile

As rexxxa said, I never use that brand, I use the cheap one step test strips from eBay, I trust them 100%, they have never failed me. I have also gotten positives from the poundland ones, I did them along with clear blue and the clear blue was negative and pounland ones were positive... BUT to answer your question, yes you are definitely still within a chance. Check again tomorrow or leave it until you actually miss your period. Good luck!!!

Also I swear the expensive tests are crap and meant to be that way so you spend more money on them. Come to think about it now, I have NEVER gotten a positive on an expensive test like clear blue or FRER. Stick to the cheap ones imo, but that's just me! Grin
